It's really not much more than that at this point. But there have been rumors going around that Paul Pierce could be traded to the Nuggets for Andre and Nene and I guess other players might be involved.

If true, this is bad news for the Rockets and every other major Western Conf power. A team with Pierce and Carmelo isn't a good thing, although it would make this upcoming season that much more interesting.

Inside Hoops among others have mentioned this as a 'pending' trade, although I have no idea what their rep is like, but I guess a few days from now we can know for sure if this is true.

if the nuggets could get pierce for just nene and miller that is a steal. the celtics would be dumb for giving the nuggets a starting lineup of :

    watson
    pierce
    anthony
    martin
    camby

and not getting a legitimate superstar in return. i think the celtics are smarter than that and wont deal pierce for anything other than equal value.

The way agents work, an agent could have gotten in touch with the site and told them "the deal is done! You'll be the first to report it!" because the agent is hoping the deal falls apart due to negative fan reaction after the leak. The same could be said for a front office employee, someone on the C's or Nugs that doesn't like the trade and wants to sabotage it, or someone from another team that wants in on the Pierce/Nene "sweepstakes." At the bigger sites, this happens ALL the time.

It's obviously been rumored all summer, but for it to work financially, a lot more needs to happen. Ainge wants Blount gone, and Marcus Banks has to be involved somehow.

To top it, aren't Pierce and Carmelo pretty much the same damn player?

"are expected ...," hardly a done deal.

I'm hoping that they're not yanking this guy's chain.

If it happens, we'll just have to go after Darius Miles, Jamaal Tinsley, and Latrell Sprewell.

    crap

I know there might be issues with chemistry and all that, but that's a pretty damn good team. They had better hope Camby can stay healthy otherwise they just traded their insurance.

They've most definately got their division down now.

Danny Ainge is always complaining about unfounded trade rumors and if Ainge denies this one, he will be within his rights. PP for Nene and Miller is a jack job, I see him going for nothing less than Ron Artest or equivalent.

Man, why can't the Rockets get PP. Trading away all our expirers and our guards would be gold to Boston.

This deal doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Boston, Miller and Nene aren't good enough compensation for a superstar. However, I'm sure other names will be added. I don't want PP on the Nugs, but I think this would be a pretty fair deal:

Andre Miller + Nene + Voshon Lenard + Najera
    for
    Paul Pierce + Mark Blount

The Nugs get PP and a servicable C in case Camby gets hurt.

The Celts get a good PG in Miller and a young big man in Nene. Lenard is an expiring contract. Najera is another servicable player. They also get rid of Blount's terrible contract.

DANG IT CD GET IN ON IT!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always loved Andre Miller. Is there anyway we can get him on the rockets. Hell trade wesley for the guy and moochie. I wouldn't mind having a starting lineup of Miller DA Mcgrady Swift Yao. GEEZE WE HAVE TO GET IN ON THIS TRADE!

Yeah, the Nuggets won't trade Miller for Pierce, but they'll trade him for a 34 year old point guard and a guy that needs a presidential pardon to get off the end of the bench...

exactly my point. the celtics don't need him since they have dickau, banks, and west. even on celtics boards they are talking about how to "re-direct" miller to another team.

jalen rose's expiring contract came up, penny's contract came up...

except i don't think toronto or NY would make that trade...well you never know with the knicks but I'm sure we can offer 2 of our expiring contracts for Dre.

wesley and ward work. moochie and baker work. james and moochie work. ainge loves picks and we hate picks so I'm sure we can throw in a future first.

    yao-deke-baker
    stro-jho-baxter
    tmac-barry-bowen
    DA-james-head
    dre-sura-moochie

james becomes the backup 2 because we cant have sura and miller playing together since niether can shoot.

Come on Pierce and Melo both need the ball to be successful, that is a chemistry experiment DOOMED to fail.

I heard a rumored deal that PP would go to Dallas for Josh Howard, Marquis Daniels and some other young players but the source was a Boston Globe blogger or something like that so I don't know of the validity of it.

I am going to laugh when this thing blows up in George Karl's face.

Pierce was the MOST selfish loser on the loser olympic team. Great. Pair him with a guy prone to curl up in a ball of depression, an overpaid aggro ego, and a glass matchstick. Opposing teams will light them up, while they bicker and point fingers.
