Hope the BBS is working now and I apologize for the screwup. Since the DAWN of clutchcity things like this always happen at the most inopportune times... generally server issues. This one was just a BBS screwup and we had problems logging internally to the site. Wierd.

And I dozed off and missed this by an hour or so. SUCK!

Way to go Rockets ... we got our point!

You had us all freaking out here in BBS land! I wanted to get that AP story out to you all but couldn't get in the gosh darn site. Good thing it's working now. Seems there are a number of postings now regarding the 'trade'. Seems real now.....

I was freakin'....I heard that it was up to 10 players now and Makhtar Ndiaye was added for cap reasons.....Even though VC was probably going to waive him, I think the Dream and Chuck could really help him. What I can't figure out is who were going to trade with next to get rid of the excess. Does this mean that Pippen + is now on the move to LA for Rice Horry +????

No apologies necessary. You did; however, lose Jeff's announcement thread where we all went goofy and started whoopin' it up.

I think the fact that my announcement thread got over 30 posts in less than 20 minutes might have had something to do with the crash!

    Server crash? Excuse me? [IMG]

Not to rain on anyone's parade hereduring all the excitement, but the web server did NOT crash. Just got through reviewing the log files and the servers were stable the entire night.

What was a problem was this particular forum - for reasons unknown, it seems to go ballistic sometimes, and we haven't been able to pinpoint the exact issue.

If anyone noticed, the other forums, along with the site in general, were working just fine - which makes the whole issue with this forum malfunctioning even more mysterious.

Even though Clutch does say that it was a BBS issue, and not a server issue, some of the follow-up threads seem to mistake the BBS for the server. Two different things entirely.

LOL! Watch out guys. I think King Digital Media is taking the server comments personally!

Actually the issue was Jeff's post. I didn't mean to delete it -- I actually saved copies. But the reason the delay was longer was I was trying to salvage the post and wipe out a corrupted post in it. I can NOT for the life of me figure out WHY this happens, but on very rare occasions a blank post gets inserted into a thread and it locks up everything. It's all there but it makes it so you can't see anything on the board (looks like all posts have disappeared). Jeff's post later on picked up one of those and I couldn't quite fix it right.... so in order to get started on the actual clutchcity.net front page and let people post on the board, I just removed it. I can fix it and get it back up later on ...

Man -- what a night though. Everything looked calm, the latest report was the deal was agreed upon in principle and could happen as "soon as Friday night". I was so tired from just work in general and this stuff that I dozed in bed around 8-ish .... next thing I know my wife comes in around 11pm and says "Oh hey your brother said the trade is done..."

    I'm like, "HOLY BALLS!"

Run to the computer, see Jeff has already sent me e-mail like 60-70 minutes before, get to the BBS and it's down because of the error I spoke of and I can't log on to the site for some unknown reason.

By the time I was done surfing for Francis info, gathering pictures/quotes/details, writing the report and adding a few other graphics, it was morning and time to go to work. I seriously feel like I've been run over by a truck right now. Can't wait to get home and sleep [IMG]

i think Ndiaye was a sign-and-trade deal meaning that the Rockets can't turn around and trade him. He will probably be cut. I think it is pronounced "Enj-eye". He is a former Tar-heel.

Aw shucks, thanks Pole, but if it wasn't for all the great people filling me in on a lot of the inside info the page would still be seeking confirmation on the Stoudamire deal.

Was wondering when someone was going to hit that sort button to list threads from the beginning and make the foolish decision to bump one of them

Not cool. Clutch won't think kindly of this

Not really a necro, just a kid playing around.

Dude just sorted first to last, and bumped the 2nd or 3rd thread in the list (from the history that Clutch was able to inject into the new database.) I've made the mistake to click that sort button, and had fun revisiting the past and reading some great threads and this thread was right there on the first page (in oldest order), but obviously with this necro bump it is no longer in it's historical place when sorting by the "Last Message Date" column.

Sort earliest to last ... have fun reading the history. But only a kid would bump those pristine first threads, and get them out of order. No one better bump that first one. It needs to remain first.

Would be cool if Clutch delete all these new responses, so this historically great thread gets returned to its correct reverse sorting order.
