http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2151065 I am not saying Price is a savior, but he becomes at least the 2nd best receiver for the Boys and hopefully can help out. Defend the STAR.
Well Sir, would you like to have a wager on who has the better record? Anyone thinking the Texans are gonna make the postseason is huffing gas.
You didn't answer my question, but to humor you, how does the records of two teams in different conferences judge which team is better? Not to mention we play better competition in the AFC(S) then you guys do in the NFC(E). Are you basing your confidence off of the pre-season? Cause I wouldn't BET on that. Just because your 2nd and 3rd teamers were trying to overly impress Price, who is a horrible reciever unless he lines up opposite a good #1 reciever, which the Boys' just don't have. You can wait next year (I think thats when we play the NFC East) IF you guys beat us to say that the Cowboy's have gained ground on us. For now, according to the regular season, Texans are 1-0 vs. the Boy's, and until you guys beat us I will not submit that you guys are a better team. (Barring the Texans don't get 5+ wins and the Boys get 10+).
I'm not even sure he'll be the #2 guy. It sounds like Keyshawn and Glenn will be the top two, and IMO, they probably deserve it. I haven't followed Peerless that much, especially while he was a Falcon, but he'll have to play extremely well and learn the playbook quickly to beat out Terry Glenn, IMO. Glenn's a really good WR, IMO, as long as he stay's on the field. Even at #3, I think Peerless could get some pressure from Patrick Crayton for that spot. I guess that shows how far the Cowboys WR's have come. I remember when we just had Joey Galloway and Rocket Ismail to throw to...and they usually got hurt during the season.
If you wanna talk about good pick-ups by the Cowboys, its Scott Fujita and not Price. ill give you that one.
Yeah, he does sound like a good pickup. I'm not that familiar with his game, but his stats look pretty good. While Dallas does have some talent at LB, there is a lot of inexperience there as well. The move should help Dallas in that aspect. I don't see how Price isn't a good-pickup though. I wouldn't necessarily say that it will make Dallas a playoff team or something like that, but he does add something to the team. If nothing else, Dallas has a good replacement for Glenn in case he gets hurt. While I like Crayton, I'm not sure if he could offer some of the things that Price could offer.
The Cowboys are already a playoff team, and Fujita is also a solid acquistion, but price makes a decent receiving corps a deep one and will add some versatality.
I wish I could be as optimistic as you. I think they have a shot, but I don't think I've quite seen enough to think of Dallas as an automatic lock for the playoffs. I got burned doing that last year. I thought we looked pretty good last year, but after some big injuries, lackluster play from some players, and the crazy situation at QB, the playoffs were just a dream. The last thing I want is for that to happen again, but that is always a possibility. Luckily, the team is a lot deeper than past years, but I think they still have a little ways to go before being a lock for the playoffs. Of course, this could all change in a few weeks. For example, if Dallas can show that they can move the ball against a good defense and not 2nd and 3rd stringers, I think I can be a little bit more optimistic.
I just feel that we have upgraded pretty much every weakness we had last year. Our defense will be revamped while our O line, QB, RB (JJ for a full year) and receiving corps with price are all a lot better.
I feel the same way, but I also felt pretty much the same at the beginning of last year (and that team was coming off a 10-6 season). If the team stays relatively healthy and everyone plays close to their potential, then they'll have a pretty good shot of making the playoffs, and maybe even something more (hey, why not? ). But those are some big IF's. Even with all those improvements, I still haven't seen a remarkably better team thus far in the preseason (looked pretty good in certain areas against the Jags, but against non-starters for the most part). I'm hoping that I can chalk that to chemistry, injuries, and inexperience (for rookies and veterans, if you consider the move to the 3-4). That's why I'm interested in watching the first few games of the season to get an idea of just how good this team could be. Hmm...impressions and season predictions on the Cowboys team in a Texans forum...interesting.
The only reason the Cowboys should be mentioned in the Texans section is if you want to talk about 19-10. If not, WRONG FORUM. Oh yeah, Dallas Sucks!
I hate Dallas as well. However i think they did a better job addressing their holes in the offseason than the Texans did. I expected us to at least do more with the trenches than we did.
If you think this shouldn't the title of the thread be "Cowboys bury Texans" or "Cowboys pass up Texans". In saying "Texans lose ground to cowboys" I dont think you honestly believe the cowbodys are better than Houston. Thats my take... Peerless Price was a good signing but I doubt any Houston fan is to upset about losing him to Dallas. He's wasnt going to make or break the Texans season which is why this doesn't belong in this fourm.
