Does anyone use this service? How is reliability of connection? http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/mobileoptions/broadband/index.jsp Thanks.
It works just about anywhere in Houston. My boss has it, it comes in handy for anyone who travels a lot or just really needs a reliable internet connection at any time. The speed isn't great.. it is like fast dialup or slow DSL.
actually, this depends. you'll pretty much always have some kind of connections somewhere. if you mean cell sites when you say "local network infrastructure", then you're right... but again... you're 98% likely to have either a broadband, national access, or qnc connection somewhere. say you get the broadband plan, if you're driving around on and playing on your laptop (hope not) and you go into an area where broadband isn't available, you'll automatically be shifted over to nat'l access... without being disconnected. if you continue driving out into the boonies and go into an area where nat'l access isn't available, you'll go to a qnc connection. simply put, these three are backwards compatible. when i say "nat'l access" or "qnc" they're just different services with differents speeds... listed below... their broadband service: 300 to 500 kbps their nat'l access service: 60 to 80 kbps their qnc service: 14.4 kbps i love the sierra 5220 aircard, it's so bad (cool "the wizard" reference, huh?). 100 bucks though. 60 bucks for unlim acc, but you're paying for the convenience (sp?) and i think it's worth it. anyway, yeah... they're reliable.
I use it constantly, I'm using it right now. Pretty handy if you're always on the road or staying at several different places.
