The Astros activated pitcher Brandon Backe from the 15-day disabled list; purchased the contracts of pitchers Brandon Duckworth and Scott Strickland; designated infielder Todd Self for assignment.

Why we keep adding pitchers? Yesterday we ran out of postion players and you shouldn't have that problem in September. Why get rid of Todd Self for Brandon Duckworth?

Gee wiz. Didn't realize Todd Self was the answer to our problems.

Hey idiot, how dumb are you. I didn't say Todd Self could help us this year. He is a left-handed batter who always has had a good OBP. Brandon Duckworth probley even pitch a game again this year so why bring him up when they have Driskill as the mop up guy.

This is why you are the one who looks like an idiot:

    Bullpen reinforcements

Because the bullpen was used extensively in Friday's 13-inning win over the Cardinals, the Astros purchased the contracts of righthanders Brandon Duckworth and Scott Strickland from Class AAA Round Rock.

General manager Tim Purpura said neither was guaranteed to stay beyond this week's crucial series with the Phillies, and they could be used to throw in the bullpen to Jeff Bagwell during his rehab.

So quick to judge without knowing the facts.

Point is you are quick to critique every move that is made, without knowing the factual motives behind them, nor, the MLB rules that have to be followed.

Makes sense to me, after a week of hitting off Duckworth, Baggy's confidence will be higher than his 94' MVP season.
