im sure you can replace a seatbelt from the manufacturers for half the price it would cost you to replace a broken collerbone.

IIRC, drapg recently bought a brand new Hummer. But he set the thermostat in his home at 80 or 82.

What is this, a pile on drapg thread??

Okay, let me join in. :D

You drive a Hummer to a gym, which is only 2 miles away? Walk or take a bicycle, you can use it to warm up/cool down. As an added bonus, that guy will never ask you again why you aren't wearing a seatbelt.

At the Chronicle...any homeless guy can go get a stack of papers and a t-shirt and sell papers. They make only what they sell.

I spend 3-4 hours at the gym everday. With me I always take:

    my laptop
    my mp3 player
    several towels
    my walkman
    several magazines

Now how am I supposed to run/walk with all of that?

Need the walkman to tune into their TV sets to get audio while watching Sportscenter. MP3 player doesn't have an FM band.

I exclusively do cardio at the gym, so I use the laptop to do office work and watch DVDs and the magazines to pass the hours spent on the cardio machines.

    nevermind...

drap, are you one of those guys that has a closet full of storm preparedness stuff, first aid kits, etc? I had this neighbor years ago who, whenever it rained, would lay out two changes of clothes, a radio with extra batteries, two flashlights, a first aid kit, road flares, candles, matches in a waterproof container, pre-packaged food and bottled water JUST IN CASE. Just wondering if you are my old neighbor. :)

    I feel ya drapg

I am a bit of a germophobe myself, and I too refuse to wear my seatbelt if I am sweating like a pig. And even when I do, I have cleaning wipes in my car at all times for that very purpose. My car's interior is very clean at all times, and I refuse to allow anyone (including myself) to eat in it, although drinking is fine.

It's difficult to understand how complicated the life of a germophobe is :(

BTW, drapg drives an H3 if I am not mistaken, which is NOT exactly a gaz-guzzler by suv standards.

Honestly, you are right. I mean, I can't imagine. My truck is a freakin' wreck inside. I occassionally have a minor germ freakout if I'm in a really nasty bathroom or something, but I cannot imagine walking around all day worried about germs. There are so many things I would miss.

Hell, sex alone must be a nightmare!

Yes. It's a disease and a sickness. I acknowledge that, and it makes life very tough and makes me (us) the object of scorn and ridicule from strangers and loved ones.
