Reggie Swinton and Sloan Thomas — who led the Texans in scoring and receiving in preseason, respectively — are expected to be cut as the roster is reduced to 53 names. The Texans also waived receiver Donovan Morgan, quarterbacks B.J. Symons and Preston Parsons, running back Adam Matthews, guards Chad Beasley and Brandon Evans, offensive tackle Tim Brown, tight end Aaron Halterman, defensive linemen Jason Davis and Alfred Malone, cornerbacks Chris McKenzie, Jerron Wishom and Jon Pendergrass, safety Jammal Lord, kicker Chris Snyder, punter Cody Scates and linebackers Kenneth Pettway, Frank Chamberlain, Zeke Moreno and Anthony Dunn.

How did Cory Bradford make the team?

I don't think they have been cut yet. It's just speculation. But Capers said that they are only keeping 5 recievers and unless Bradford gets cut then it probably narrows down to them.

If Capers thinks he can sneak Sloan Thomas onto the practice squad, I think he is wrong. Philly and Atlanta both are hard up for wide receivers, and I think he could play right away on both those teams.

I would have kept Thomas and cut Bradford. You have a wideout you can use for fly patterns now (mathis) so Bradford should have been cut. Tony Hollings should have been cut too.

That will be a new fan participation promotion.............

Loudspeaker Announcer, "The Browns are about to punt away to the Texans, will the lucky guest in section 234, Row 12, Seat 3... Come on down to the 20 yard line..."

I think Mathis will return kickoffs and Buchanon will handle punts.

One bright spot during this preseason would have to be CC Brown. Anytime a late round pick can secure a starting position is impresive. Either that or Glenn Earl really sucks.

That's the question I want to know. He's been with us for 3 years and done nothing. Try someone else as the #2 receiver. Heck, Derrick Armstrong had more catches than him last year and only played half as much!

I am inclined to agree with you on this.

Thomas' talent will only get better. Some other team has to pick him up. The Texan's made a mistake cutting him.

Yeah Thomas might be a decent wideout in the pros one day. Bradford is just like Chris Sanders (old oiler) Fast but has hands like stone.

Not sure how Bradford is still on the team. He has been nothing but a disappointment his entire career. Even in Green Bay. He talks a ton of crap, saying how he is ready to contribute every year, and nothing happens. I would have rather seen Swinton or Thomas in there.

That is without a doubt one of the funniest things I've ever read on this board.

    Most excellent, Rocketball. :D

Thomas must have been picked up by another team already. He won't be on the team's practice squad.

Thomas is going to make a team very happy they picked him up. I know Sloan and he is going to be a solid player in this league.

Agreed. The media keeps saying Carr needs another talented reciever to shine. Then Sloan Thomas shines as that #2 guy we need and we cut him. Houston will live to regret this. :(

Cardinals release J.J. Moses and signed Swinton. They must have a thing for picking up our trash, problem is, Swinton wasn't trash.
