Johnny Oates has resigned as manager of the Texas Rangers. It's the lead story at ESPN.com. Johnny Oates is the victim of the idiocy of the Rangers front office. A-Rod's signing had nothing to do with making the ballclub better. It was done solely to sell more tickets. well, all the FA pitchers spurned the Rangers. Adding ARod couldn't have hurt the team physically, but I think this team lacks the intangibles. Clutch hitting, timely defense, etc. Plus, everyone is pressing. Also, noone in their starting rotation throws in the 90's or knows how to pitch. One thing about Hicks, he HATES to lose.
