Ok so I'm attending school in San Marcos TX and I live in an apartment which includes free extended basic cable. I get just about all of ESPN and I get Fox Sports Southwest. However since im basically 45 mins away from San Antonio it's likely that they will only show spurs basketball (My roommate is a huge spurs fan) Does anyone know how I can watch Rockets games at San Marcos?

    get satellite...with league pass.

or digital cable with league pass approx 50 bux/month + 180 bux one time for one nba season League pass

satellite + league pass: cheaper...do some research on satellite..either directv or dish network

I have a friend that lives in San Marcos as well and is a rockets fan. Unfortunately I don't think you have a choice. I am sure you will see a lot more Mavs and Spurs games than rockets.

Go to the Draught Choice on town square.

My dad built that place and I painted the football helmet murals on the walls (Cowboys and Oilers). From what I hear, they've painted over the Oiler helmet, though.

Dad sold it a few years back.

If you have relatives in Houston that are signed up with Dishnetwork or Directv have them get an extra reciever on their account.Take this reciever to San Marcus find an old dish and LNB and set it up. Make sure you pay your relatives! It works the same as having a dish in your RV.

I haven't thought about that place in quite some time. I used to see Earl Campbell in the Draught Choice several years back.

Yeah this is a good idea. I do this with a cousin who lives in Baytown and I live in near downtown Houston. Works perfectly. No problems at all.

He was there. Got his autograph. My dad got his autograph on a UT Jersey. Dad actually had quite a few sports figures come through his doors.

    I miss that place.

There was a time when I'd go to San Marcos, get a home-cooked meal from mom, then go to the Draught Choice to watch the Rockets. My dad would have a perfect table right up front reserved for me, and from there it was free beer, pinball, shuffleboard and pool all night.

    I miss that place.

I have lived in Austin/San Antonio for the past few years...this is Spurs country.

I recommed getting league pass (but this is usually too expensive for college kids).

Alternative: Wait for R2K for release the torrent (usually the next day), and watch the game on your computer ...this is what I do.

Ofcourse BW3s always has rockets/astros games, no matter where you are in Texas.

With Time Warner you can get the NBA league pass for 129.00 if you get the early bird special. If you need too, you can split it into 2 months payment too.

I live in Austin. Best place here is Ringers Sports Bar in the warehouse district. They've got about 30 Plasmas everywhere you look, and 2 150 in. HD projection screens, plus they have pretty good food. I watched the Rockets dominate the Suns last March, the night of my B-day, what a treat!!

Yeah and set the elevation on 90 and the skew on 120... settings on the back of the dish... point the dish southwest untill you get a strong signal... I used to be a technician for Dish... you can buy LNBs on ebay get a Dish Pro Twin and a Dish 500 dish. Any more questions about sattelite id be happy to answer them for any Rockets fans. lol

since i also live in san marcos and go to school the only way to get all the games is league pass through either grande or time warner cable. it's expensive but i'm thinking of saving up and getting it this year. hell if you want to split it and watch the games together let me know.
