I'm just curious as to how good you think Emeka will be now that he's worked out with the Dream. Also, does this mean Yao has a chance to work out with Hakeem later on?

I just saw Shawn Kemp at Lifetime Fitness in SugarLand yesterday night -- around 2 a.m. Told him to come play for the rox, he said "too close to home"

translation--- "too much fat on my body"

Maybe when Yao isn't off playing against Antarctica's national squad in a crucial match of the South Pole Games.

As much as i'd like to see yao work out with dream, it might not happen. Dream doesn't have this magic touch that will make Yao not get stupid fouls and only play 25-30 minutes a game. Yao has his flaws, and he'll learn to play this game at his own pace. Sticking him with Dream doesn't guarantee anything.

That's up to our big guy. He needs to stop heading back to China every summer for pointless games.

Well maybe if Hakeem wasn't overseas all the time studying his pointless religion*.

    * As a disclaimer to prevent this from heading into D&D territory, I have no negative feelings about Hakeem studying Islam abroad. I just feel that too many people are begrudging Yao for not spending all his time in Houston working on his game, when even if he had no Chinese BBall commitments, he deserves to spend his offseason in his homeland.

Folks, ya need to realize that he believes it's his obligation to his country to do what he does every summer. He's representing his country on the basketball stage.
I would like to see him here for the summer ballin it up at fonde....but that ain't gonna happen until at least after the 2008 olympics......

I don't think anyone's disagreeing with that. But when someone asks why Hakeem isn't working with him as if it's somehow Hakeem's fault, it's been stated in the Chronicle that it's because of Yao's and Hakeem's schedule not clicking. Yao's over there, Hakeem's either here or possibly in Jordan.

Actually maybe the rockets should just spit out a million to dream so he could be yao's personal coach for a year. If they don't mind paying vin baker.... give some money to dream who might actually be able to make your star a bigger star.
