I'm shocked they've been able to retain as many players as they have - they have a south american budget player pipeline going bc of their coach. I don't know about long term if he leaves because it's a small town I don't think they even got into the first division until 2000.

Cool...have you checked the team(s) websites of the cities you will be in? That may be your best bet. Also they may have scalpers there are they do here.

Lyon are going to win now that they've signed the legend that is Fred.

    Sir Jackie Chiles,

Honestly, I'm going more for the "event" of a european football match than to see any team in particular. I just want to be able to experience the intensity, loyalty, and camaraderie that european football seems to embody. Are there some stadiums/teams you'd recommend checking out over another (taking into account the "experience" and the ability to get reasonably priced tickets)? Thanks.

    Group play starts today.

Damn it, I just got home and Liverpool are already up at Betis 2-0 after 15 minutes.

Lyon up 2-0 on Real Madrid as well. Here's a good site to follow the score lines:

3-0 Lyon now. Doesn't look like Luxemburgo has much time left as Madrid.

    yeah was a good matchday!

I watched the Porto match, was quite good. Too bad for Co though. I wonder how the crowd and press like him there, haven't really read much about it. They played some decent football.

I really hope PSV can reach the 2nd round, this was definitely an amazing first step!!! Schalke is quite a good team.

Liverpool looked decent enough as well, though they started without Gerrard which was quite a surprise. Zenden actually played ok, I wonder if he will ever play for Holland again.

    Results from tonight's matches:

    Group A

    Club Brugge 1 - Juventus 2
    Rapid Vienna 0 - Bayern Munich 1

    Group B

    Arsenal 2 - FC Thun 1
    Sparta Prague 1 - Ajax 1

    Group C

    Udinese 3 - Panathinaikos 0
    Werder Bremen 0 - Barcelona 2

    Group D

    Benfica 1 - Lille 0
    Villarreal 0 - Man United 0

As a Man United fan, I'm very happy with a draw at Villarreal considering we were without our two starting full backs, our midfield general and played with 10 men without our best offensive player for the final thirty minutes. That's likely the toughest game we'll have in the group, so I'm pleased with the point. Anyone know how many games Rooney will miss due to the red card?

Rooney will only miss one game, because it was two yellows - not a straight red.

Robin van Persie will miss three games, because that was a straight red, I think.

Yeah, I think it's a two game ban. As far as RVN goes, he's a great goal scorer, but doesn't create anything for himself. I say Rooney is our best offensice player because he can create chances for himself and others, as well as being a very good goal scorer.

Great PSV beat Ac milan. Great moment, a little pay back for last year.
Gomez is a great keeper, and it was a great goal of farfan. it is great to see some young guys playing for psv in the CL. Like Aisatti.

Does anyone know if you can still watch the CL on coolstreaming? Would like to watch the Arsenal game today but it doesn't seem to be connecting.

Wow, United looks awful. Expect mass changes in the summer, maybe even starting in January. This is Fergie's final season at the helm.
