I've never anticipated an NBA season as much as this upcoming one

I mean, forget about the anticipation for the Rockets...just look at the other great storylines.

    Kobe and Phil reuniting
    Larry Brown in New York
Phoenix and Seattle trying to prove that they weren't flashes in the pan
Andrew Bogut trying to prove everybody wrong, saying that he wasn't worthy of being chosen #1
Lebron finally getting a big time scorer to run with him
KG trying to bounce back into the playoffs
The Clippers and the Warriors looking to be the "suprise teams" of next year
The Kings battling that "window of opportunity" that closes more and more each day
Trying to predict if the Atlantic Division winner will finish above .500 or not

These stories, and more, coming this fall to televisions all over the country...

Don't forget "the rise of the Heat"
They're going to be quite formidable.

Gonna be one helluva season! BRING IT ON!

The two teams that made the biggest improvements last offseason repeated the feat again this summer.

yeah, every time i think about how much the rockets improved so quick with so little i realize the heat have done basically the same thing. i mean it may not work out, but jwill, posey, and walker for eddie jones? on top of shaq for odom and butler and the benefit of getting rid of grant's contract. plus adding haslem and damon jones for little. damn.

and i would have to say last season was more anticipated. i can't remember all the reasons why, but last offseason had shaq and tmac switching teams and a host of other things that made it exciting plus the shaq/kobe matchup on christmas day that got hyped beyond belief (and then lived up to the hype).

I was one of the (very) few people who didn't like the McGrady trade when it was first made, so there was more uncertainty about last season than this season, at least for me. Seeing how McGrady improved the team last year, I'm a lot more excited about this upcoming season.

The Lakers are the most intruiging team for me outside of the Rockets. They have the talent, just not the dicipline...

    1) Can Artest stay on his meds?
    2) Can Carmelo pull it together and lead the Nugs to a series win?
    3) Which lottery picks from this year's draft are gonna suck?
    4) Will Vin Baker become a dominant player again ;) ?
    5) Are the Warriors and Clippers for real? Or just creations of internet hype?
    6) Who'll have the league's worst record? My money's on Portland. When you're GM goes out publicly and SAYS that he expects a 15-20 win season...
    7) Watching Andrew Bogut fail after all the smack he talked about his Australian countrymen.
    8) Is Miami really improved? Or are they victims of subtraction by addition?
    9) Watching Larry Brown deal with the no-talent team that he inherits from Isiah Thomas.
    10) Watching a full NBA season with flop artists Reggie Miller and Vlade Divac out of the picture.

It's always fun to predict who's going to have a dissapointing year. Id say Boston. I don't think they'll hold on to Pierce with all the youth they're bringing in. It's getting to the point where they need to be thinking about his age and getting back something solid for him. Washington wont do as well this year without Arenas I'd guess. I don't have that much faith in Memphis being .500.

Did Washington trade Arenas when I wasn't looking, or are you thinking of Hughes? ;)

For me, last year was the most anticipated NBA season for a long time because of McGrady.

As a Rockets fan, every season has been one to highly anticipate for quite some time.

This year - adding a supporting cast around Yao&McGrady
    Last year - McGrady
Year Before - Can Van Gundy get Francis to change?
Year Before - Yao's first year

How about the annual "Which overpaid free-agent is actually going to earn their salary?" or "Which high-profile player is going to get arrested/get caught with a dead hooker/get caught doping/play the race card on national tv when things don't go their way/just not show up?" I'm always excited before every NBA season.

    The games are good too.
