Let's try and keep all discussion on this year's CL in one thread. The draw was today and group's are posted below: GROUP A Bayern Munich Juventus Club Brugge Rapid Vienna GROUP B Arsenal Ajax Sparta Prague Thun GROUP C Barcelona Panathinaikos Werder Bremen Udinese GROUP D Man Utd Villarreal Lille Benfica GROUP E AC Milan PSV Eindhoven Schalke Fenerbahce GROUP F Real Madrid Lyon Olympiakos Rosenborg GROUP G Liverpool Chelsea Anderlecht Real Betis GROUP H Inter Milan Porto Rangers Artmedia Bratislava Group G looks to be the toughest, I wouldn't be surprised if Betis advanced over Liverpool, and I think Anderlect could pull a couple of upsets if their overlooked (watch out for Vincent Kompany). As a Man United supporter, the draw looks pretty good, Villareal is a tough match, Lille and Benfica may be tricky away, but at least we have short trips. We should win the group rather easily. It will be nice to see Diego return to OT.

I would love to see as many Italian teams get knocked out as possible and more spanish teams advance. Liverpool is in the toughest group and I doubt they will advance. Villareal and Schalke would be my spoilers.
i need help...how is the champions' league put together? do they draw from teams from various other leagues?? the champions of those respective leagues, like the English Premier League, and so on?
Group G is an evil, evil group, Group H is a joke. Also, the draw isn't fixed at all is it? Chelsea draw Liverpool, Man Utd draw Diego Forlan and Rangers draw the team that embarassed Celtic - Artmedia Bratislava. It's not that easy. This is the group stage, there have already been three rounds of qualifying as well. Each of the major leagues (England, Germany, Italy, Spain) get 4 spots in the Champions League given to the top 4 teams each season. The top 2 teams automatically qualify for the group stage, while the other two are forced to play one round of qualifying. For the smaller leagues, only the champions and possibly the second place team make it, and they usually have to go through most, if not all, three rounds of qualifying. Once they make it to the group stages, team are seeded into 4 pots, the best teams go in pot 1 and so on. Each group draws a team from each pot to make the 4 team group. I hope that clears it up some.
Puedlfor, I've been meaning to ask you about Football Manager. I remember you talking about it in chat durng the OOTP draft and I was wondering if you can buy it anywhere in the States. I've heard alot of great things about it on European-based soccer sites.
OooOOoooooohhhhhh... OK... I get it now... The Champions League is the equivalent of the Copa Libertadores... except the CONCACAF countries get no spots...
I am happy to say that, as a season ticket holder with Bayern, I will be in the new Allianz-Arena to watch Bayern-Juve, Bayern-Brügge and Bayern-Vienna live. I might also go to Turin and Vienna if I have time to watch those games in their respective stadium because I have friends in both cities .
You can, but it's not named Football Manager, it's called Worldwide Soccer Manager. I got my copy through Amazon.com, and I've seen copies at Frye's. The '06 version will come out in November, I believe.
footbal manager is a great game, i love playing that game. it is just like the old Championship manager. Adu is great in this game, the first move i make with any team is signing Adu
