I am deffinately not a baseball fan, but the school I went to for the last 3 years is doing quite well this year. they have the nations HR leader, who is also top 5 in RBI(it fluctuates between games, sometimes he is #1) and the strikeout top 5 pitcher. their record is 27-14 and they are 9-0 in their confrence. yet in the polls they dont even get a single vote to be in the top 25 their record is better than some of the ranked teams anyone ever heard of Stony Brook?? ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com [This message has been edited by The Voice of Reason (edited April 29, 2001).]
They are not ranked because of their schedule. You have to play (and beat) ranked teams to get a ranking. http://goseawolves.fansonly.com/sports/m-basebl/sched/ston-m-basebl-sched.html ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley) [This message has been edited by BobFinn* (edited April 29, 2001).]
Nope. That's probably why their not in the top 25. The competition doesn't help either. There's an obvious pattern among the ranked. Most ranked teams are of the big schools(Stanford, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Texas) or the baseball schools(Witchita State, Cal. St. Fullerton, etc.) ------------------ "...just because a clever person can complicate the discussion about the truth doesn't necessarily mean he or she is making any progress in finding it."
