Didn't know where to post this, so sorry. Does anyone who knows anything about the new NBA live know if Hakeem will be in the legends team? as i was disgusted to see that he was left out of live 2005..any help would be great
i have no idea but i think it's the same reason jordan wasn't in alot of games in the 90's. it's not a disrespect against dream i don't think.
I think Jordan had his own game and thats why he was not in the older games as well as Barkley. But that pissed me off to when I saw Dream not on any of the legends teams
Bck inthe day Jordan signed something that said he will only be in the is one game "Jordan in the widny city" or something liek that. That is why it took years to get him into live. Remember how NBA jame did not have him?
i dont know which is worse: olajuwon not being in live 2005? or playing the older live games where they make hakeem crap with no jumper on the 80s legend teams. olajuwon is much better than what the nba live ratings give him credit for. as a matter of fact; nba live sucks period. (nba 2k6 b****!!!)
the same reason there is no statue of Hakeem in front of the Toyota Center. it is against Islamic faith to idolize one in the form of a statue, or in this case, a video game. it has to do with glorifying oneself in the form of an idol... it is a no-no in Islam
ha! we are in wrong forum territory now, a Hakeem thread debating the importance of religion in the NBA Dish!!! memo to Yao- get your ass to Houston, weve got a mentor waiting for you...
This is what I think: As Hakeem is no longer part of the NBA, the license that EA buys (from the NBA) does not include Hakeem. To get Hakeem, he must individually sell the license to his image and likeness to EA in order for them to include him. That's probably why he's not in the game now, whereas he was in the past. But then again, I remember EVERY NBA game in the 90's had "#23" playing 2 guard for the Bulls. So I dunno.
you're basically right. i think after a player retires, the game company has to work out an individual contract with the player. the thing about #23 is that they can copy jordan's game or have his attributes to be jordanesque but they couldn't get his name or likeness in the game.
If the NBA can sell the license of all of its players, and Michael Jordan was an NBA player, why wasn't his license sold?
I think the game was made during the period when he was retired the 1st time. Hence, he basically represented himself.
