anyone going to the game today @ 4 in the toyota center? i just want to know who will be playing so if i do end up heading downtown, it will be for a good reason.
i went last year, it was the first annual SF summer fiesta... stevie had just been traded, and the crowd showed a lot of love for the little guy. I'm glad he is staying true to his word, to hold the fiesta in h-town every year...
Likely the highpoint of Francis' season; Orlando is so screwed up that it will be like playing on the dark side of the moon. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=andyouthoughtyoursummer&prov=tsn&type=lgns
This should be in the NBA forum and not the GARM. SF is not a Rocket anymore...(and really wasn't that good when he was here.....lol)
Anything and everything about the Houston Rockets. Your comments from last night's game, potential roster moves, player quotes and pictures. Hell, the slower people in the group can even talk about ex-Rocket Tracy Murray.
Went to the game with my brothers, it was nice. Nothing really great. It was nice seeing Stevie and Cat, among others, playing at the TC one more time. I think the best thing was the play-by-play guy (from 97.9The Box) making fun of players/teams throughout the whole game. He said some funny stuff and the crowd was laughing along with him (He said Cassell "never saw a shot he didn't like" and teased him about not passing the ball; he made fun of Lue and the Hawks, saying things like "A $5 ticket will get you courtside in Atlanta!" ) Some of the players that showed up were: Paul Pierce, Franchise, Cat, Damon Jones, T. Lue, Jameer Nelson, Wilcox, Dooling, Cassell, Posey, Starbury, Billups, Terrence Morris, Utah's 1st rd pick, among others.
yes me and tigermission went and it was utah's 3rd pick overall deron williams, who reminds me alot of jason kidd for some reason
Thats him in the blue hat and shirt. He seems to spend a lot of time here in Houston. I didnt know he was from Dallas either(actually The Colony).
Yeah, I knew who he was, I've been a Illinois' fan for years now, just was wondering if that is who ya'll were talking about, and I was curious about what he was doing in Houston.
BTW, saw Luther Head there too in street cloth. I think he left early though. Another note... There were a LOT of people at this game, considering that it's a charity b-ball game. My estimation would be around 4000 people there today, which is a huge number considering that not even the Comets can probably get that many people to attend their games. The one thing I have always liked about the fans of this city is that they appreciate Steve and Cat and are always respectful to the former Rockets players, unless of course they left on really bad terms and were total jerks. Steve and Cat heard loud cheers when introduced and at the end of the game when Stevie gave a short 'Thank you' speech to the fans, players, and organizers of the event. There clearly are a lot of people who love the Franchise, which is a good thing IMO. I am glad we don't give him the 'Orlando' treatment or anything like that. The fans in this town are classy, although might be a bit impatient at times
Tell that to that camera guy and Vancouver... Seriously I think he's a good guy also but has an overinflated opinion of himself as far as his place in the basketball world (which wasn't helped early in his career when nicknamed Stevie Franchise and Rudy T buttering him up with all those accolades like him having the chance of being one of the all-time greats...sorry Rudy, you were wrong). He thinks he is on the same superstar level as Shaq, TMac, KG, etc. but really is just a second tier type, an all-star at best. We committed the robbery of the century with that trade. Thank you again Weisbrodenhiemer.
Ya I saw Paul Pierce at Dior at the Galleria on Saturday. The guy has a gripping handshake to say the least. Got his autograph and a photo (photo sux because it was a camera phone).
