So what were your thoughts on the ending of SFU? I don't want to post any spoilers for those who will catch it tonight, but I found the wrap up at the end a little forced. Overall, pretty good, but I'm glad they quit when they did.
I haven't watched it yet, but you could tell this entire season has been 'forced.' Alan Ball said that they cut out at least half a season just to fit everything into one season. There was so much during this season that they could've expanded on. Hopefully, the DVD's will have all of the deleted scenes.
I actually really liked the ending. ****Spoilers Ahead - look away now**** I thought it was neat how they showed the deaths of all the main characters, and the song they were playing seemed to really fit well. It was really familiar to the series, since that was how they started almost every episode, and it provided some closure with all of the characters.
***********SPOILERS***************************** I thought the final episode was great. I loved how they started off this episode with a birth rather than a death. I have to admit I started to get choked up at a few different points towards the end. This has been my favorite show ever on TV, I'm gonna miss it.
************SPOILERS******************** Am I the only one who felt bad that Nate died 80 years before Claire did? That Keith was murdered and David lived 15 more years without him? Did George outlive Claire...he never died? I will miss the show dearly. My wife and I have been watching every episode since we got married in 2001. Really the end of a way too short era.
I thought that was one of the best series finales that I've ever seen on American television. Everything. Everyone. Everywhere. Ends. May SFU rest in peace.
I just saw the last show on DVD and I have to say that was the best finale I have ever seen seen by far. Spoiler The shot of Claire driving through the desert as they show the final moments in life of all the main characters, combined with the music they chose, was just brilliant. I'm still thinking about it days later. Damn, that show was good.
yeah that was a damn good series finale. nice way to bring closure to a great series. the song at the end while claire was driving is called Breath Me by Sia.
Thanks, I was wondering what it was. I've heard it on the radio twice in the last week and both times it took me right back to that last scene.
That's how impressed I was with the finale (and the show as a whole). I knew there had to be a thread created at the time it originally broadcast and it took me about five minutes to find it using Search.
my favorite drama of all time, and yes, the finale was mindblowing. one idea i had that i thought would have been cool....at the beginning of the finale, when they faded to the birth of the baby, they should have faded to a black screen to put the birth tag on (opposite of how they fade to white every show with the deaths).
