Am I the only one confused as to why CD is on vacation in the middle of the off season? Seems like after the trade deadline would be a little better timing. But who cares as long as we got him. Also shows how easy we can get FA's to come.
DAMN, beat me to it R2K! Yah, it's probably a good bet that his 'sources' are all named Marc Berman. McIlvoy is a joke!
heh...I love how he(McIlvoy) phrased it.."has been confirmed from sources close to the negotiations"... priceless... why not just say "DA's agent, Tony Dutt, confirmed today that Derrick Anderson will sign with the Rockets on Tues." There is no shame to being outscooped by Berman...it happens to everyone.
BTW, Ch.2 are about to have a segment with coach JVG. Seems to be more about him personally rather than any real Rockets talk.
Sweet news!! Only thing that worries me about anderson is he's not a great shooter. Does pass the ball and does play defense. I'm hoping coming to houston will rejuvenate his career. Should be a good backup at the SF/SG position.
Bob Sura is a fierce competitor and a good teammate. Remember him paying Josh Howard back for a hard foul on Yao. Who wouldn't want to play with Sura. Welcome aboard DA.
hell yea!!! this team next year is going to be real dangerous. he fits in perfect here in houston and i think he will be the starter over wesley. i cant wait till the season starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool. Now the question is: does DA start or come off the bench? We now have five guys to share minutes for the two guards positions: Sura, James, Wesley, Anderson, and Barry. There just aren't enough minutes to go around for all of them. DA maybe able to play some at SF (there won't be a lot of minutes there with TMac playing 40+ minutes a night), but I would prefer if we trade one of the guards (maybe DW). And it appears Head will be riding the pine all year long.
Don't knock CD being on vacation. It's probably the last week he has with his kids before they start school so he is doing the "family time thing". Or maybe his kids just went back to school last week, so it's his time to get some "private time with his lady thing". Also, I think that DA is versatile. He played a good amount of PG for the Blazers and produced well. He doesn't have the best shot but he can light it up if needed.
