Come on what? She wasn't found guilty of anything. Employers cannot ask -- and certainly cannot base hiring decisions -- about arrests, only convictions. It would be an injustice and a persecution if the woman was denied gainful, lawful employment because of charges so tenuous they were dropped by the prosecutor. It is hard enough on a person with a conviction to turn around their life and find legitimate employment; why give the same illegitimate treatment to people who have not even been convicted? Besides, the letter says only that the denial based on her criminal record was rescinded. It doesn't say she was hired. If you're worried about having her around children, you can take solace in the possibility that the school system trumped up some other reason not to hire her by saying she has poor rapport with children or her something. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
I can understand maybe one or two incidents, but this list goes on and on. Makes you wonder if she is really guilty or if someone in the law force is harassing her. Either way, something is fishy! ------------------ Im too drunk to walk ... Im driving home!
Put yourself into her shoes. What if you had been taken to court by eight psycho ex-girlfriends and were never once found guilty. Were you guilty? No. You just ran into some back luck with women. If the courts found her innocent then that many times then you actually have some scientific fact that she's not guilty. Where's that OJ cop..... ------------------ humble, but hungry.
The courts didn't find him/her innocent, they declined to prosecute for whatever reason (sometimes because the Grand Jury failed to indict). That's different than being found innocent (and no one is found "innocent" anyway. It would be "not guilty"). There are any number of reasons why a prosector would decide to not seek a conviction after an arrest even if the proscutor thought the person was guilty. But considering that the standard for employment in the DC School System appears to be convictions, then that standard should be adhered to (and apparently was, if this letter is actually true). ------------------ Houston Sports Board Film Dallas.com
