Fred Hoiberg will probably never play again because of his heart condition, and Ron Mercer sucks.

do you seriously think the timberwolves would have waived the player who was #1 in 3 point fg % and #1 in assist to turnover ratio if they expected him to play this season?

there have been nearly 5 threads about hoiberg.. we should just make a thread called "hoiberg will never play again" and save ourselves 5 more threads

I'd like Mercer if I thought we really needed another scorer... but with T-Mac, Yao, and now Howard coming off the bench, I wouldn't put up with his lack of defense. WOuldn't be a horrible move though.

Not only will Hoiberg likely not play again, but Barry is the same type of player, and also plays better defense and is a better passer.

Hoiberg was also scheduled to make "only" 1.75 million. While he was designated an "amnesty" waiver, the intent wasn't for luxury tax pruposes. It was simply an opportunity to waive a guy who they didn't think would play (this year anyway) and use the amnesty rule as a side benefit.

If Fred wasn't hurt I would love to just bring him in to play off the bench with his 3-pt shooting.

I would love Hoidberg but too bad it wont happen.....I used to like Mercer but just seems like he is getting more and more useless.
