The word from Dallas this morning on Finley is somewhat murky. First, they (Cuban & Nelson) did not want a repeat of the Steve Nash fiasco where they basically let Nash walk and he came back to bite them on their collective asses during the playoffs so they tried desperately to trade him to the Eastern Conference. When that failed, they were forced to waive him but reports up here said that the Finley camp confirmed that he's heading off to the Heat to play with Shaq Daddy. Other reports have him going to Phoenix or San Antonio. This morning, ESPN 103.3 in Dallas is reporting at least 10 teams interested in Fins. As I said before, it's a murky situation.
Of these teams interested in Finley, can any of them offer him significantly more than us? They all seem to be teams that are pretty capped out as well.
I'm sorry I should have found this out earlier, but why are the Mavs letting him go anyways? They'd rather keep Stackhouse, Daniels, and that punk Howard.. And don't want to pay luxury tax?
Signing Finley for the LLE would be the biggest bargain in the NBA. He may not be the franchise player he was in Dirks early years in Dallas and before, but he is still a superb 3 option. Man, getting Finley really is like a pipe dream. Considering that the Rockets only have the LLE. Well, here is spreading the karma to get Finley to join the Rockets!
