I haven't celebrated a 420 in quite some time. I gave it up.....it just kept me too damn groggy and worthless (not that it does that for everyone). Spark one up for people like me who like to reminisce about "back in the day." ------------------ "I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy from getting on that plane." --Ozzy Osbourne on guitarist Randy Rhodes
Uhhh, I suppose I am naive about whatever this particular holiday represents. Anyone care to enlighten me? ------------------ Watch out for gay Limbo Dancers.

4:20 is code for smoking mar1juana -- used often in schools. April 20 is a 'holiday' when some people skip school/work to smoke pot or use other drugs. It's the anniversary of something -- I don't remember what. (Who says you don't learn anything from TV?) ------------------ Stay Cool...
dang it DC! Its supposed to be code! Now everybody knows about it! ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.

Amazing how many people weren't at school today. My Lax coach warned the team not to celebrate the holiday until after the game we had today. Personally I dont celebrate the holiday. ------------------ ~John~ Help keep the obsessed thread alive post the reasons why you are an obsessed Rockets fan by clicking here

I celebrate that holiday every day! --laughs-- --coughs-- --laughs some more-- just thought I'd make an appearance. rH oh.. and a note on the origin of 420 from High Times May 2001: (paraphrased by me) The origin was discovered in 1998 when Steve "Waldo" contacted High Times to claim that he and his friends, dubbed "the Waldos," coined the term in the early '70's when they were students at San Rafael High School. They would get out of school at 3:10 and meet 70 minutes later at the Louis Pasteur statue near the entrance of the school parking lot to smoke pot. They would remind each other during the day by saluting each other in halls by saying "420 Louie.'" They soon discovered they could talk about getting high in front of their parents without them knowing. The article goes on to say how the term leaked into the Deadhead lexicon which made sense since the Dead had been based out of San Rafael. The term appeared on a flyer that would circulate around Dead shows during the 90's. The flyer stated that 4/20 is the "grand master of all holidays." How it became known as a police code for mar1juana smoking in progress is not known. ------------------ Homecourt will always be 'The Summit' to me!! Until we move downtown!! I always thought it was Bob Marley's birthday. Oh well. I couldnt, i was out of town on a school sports tourney. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
