A player has to fall through waivers to be traded at this point. It is more difficult, but possible. Basically, every other team in baseball has to let the oppurtunity of grabbing the player for free slide.

Didn't Baltimore report that they were thinking about waiving Palmeiro? Do you think anyone will bite? If not do you think the Astros would?

Ain't no way. The Astros are a character organization over just about all else.

    You mean a racist organization?

    JUUUUSSTTT KIDDING FOLKS...joke!!!

And what would that show about Baltimore? They let a pretty consistent hitter during a pretty much ongoing investigation without all of the facts out go?

That's simply betrayal. Palmeiro has always been the quiet guy. I have no idea what the "truth" is, however far-fetched it may be, but guilty or innocent Palmeiro isn't the type of guy to go out publicly in the media. I feel that this passive personality trait has definitely not helped him, especially now under these circumstances.
