Yeah, they're annoying, but why complain about something you can't control? Instead of wasting space and starting threads "hoping" for people to stop things, you've just got to learn to deal with it. People will post crazy ideas, that's just a part of life on here....Deal with it!

just as long as they can stand being ridiculed for being idiots.

like Harrisment said, we eat our own here.

A long time ago, back when the best message boards were on usenet(newsgroups to the noobs)...if you didnt take the time to lurk and read before jumping in with both feet, you would normally get flamed into oblivion and then ignored from there on out by the regulars.
They were much less forgiving of "noobs" than we are here..

it is normally a good idea to lurk and read and see if you can figger out the tone of the community after you join one...it saves you the trouble of having to learn thru trial by fire.

The Rockets would be giving up to much for Wade in your trade. I say Moochie, Baker, and Mutombo for Shaq. Mutombo is only going to play for two more years and Shaq will play for at least 3 more years. It would be another Rocket coup! :D

I agree with you, but your request is the type of self evelution that comes with maturity, wisdom, and knowledge. All qualities you find in seasoned veterans, I'm sure. Don't be too hard on the rookies. They just aim to please. They mean well, sometimes it just comes out wrong. HEHEHEHE....I remember how long it took me to learn to think before I talked. Those were hard learned lessons, but sometimes you just gotta learn the hard way.

Its the offseason. And Rocket fans tend to day dream and conjure up crazy ideas.

    1. Trade scrubs for a superstar; moochie/spoon for LeBron etc
    2. Anything Yao, "is Yao's girlfriend cheating on him?" etc
    3. Rocket sightings "Sura faints at Mens Club etc"

I'm glad that people start stupid threads, so I can just destroy them like Hakeem did Robinson.

Like this crap that comes up every season about these overrated players... you know who they are.

I didn't mean it to sound that way. Context can sometimes be lost when posting.

I just currently became a member and am enjoying the bbs. I have not made any crazy trade proposals because it is boring. I think legit trade ideas are great on the other hand. I enjoy reading about players I don't know ,because they are not superstars or whatever. I love basketball and watched every game the Rockets played last season. I just stumbled upon clutchfans and was reluctant at first to shell out some dough to become a member. I thoght I could just read other basketball fourms and be ok. Once I got fed up with stupid posters on ESPN or wherever I came here. I love it I am on here all day. The crazy trade ideas are a little bit much and I think a dedicated fourm would be a good idea. All I want to say is take it easy on us newbes .

    Well at least me. LOL

by and large these threads are all meaningful basketball threads... maybe they don't make sense financially (based on the CBA), but not everyone is dan rosenbaum... maybe we're not always asking for fair trades but it's prolly out of excitement .. just picture a 15 yr old who just found a website dedicated to his favorite team (ala ClutchFans) and starts a thread:

junior: hi , let's get lebron james, he's a great player...
alex (veteran): what a r****ded thread...LOCK IT UP.... what an idiot..
    chris (veteran): yeah i agree...LOCKED

i think, if anything, what is irritating is the jabs people take at each other by quoting/replying within a thread.... what you end up with is a thread that is 80% irrelevant to the topic itself...

    e.g.

    pete: let's get SAR
    chris: he sucks
    pete: you suck
    chris: no you suck
    .....

at least with a thread you can ignore it if you're not interested, but to have to skip through meaningless posts inside an otherwise meaningful post is not cool...

personally i have been a regular on this site for over 8 years now and we've always had funny and outrageous threads...when i'm in the mood i read them, when i only want insider info or breaking news i ignore them... the important thing is to remember it's a public forum (obviously with some administration to weed out unnecessary stuff)

fIRST OFF Bonita.....I wasn't complaining.....I was requesting. Big difference. Don't tell me I'm wasting time and space "hoping" for new people to think before posting. I started this thread "hoping" to help new people here better understand how not to get railed on. Your response kinda tells me that you're used to soap opras.

And I agree with you Abrocketsfan.....

I never take jabs at people when they start bad trade threads or what ever else they think of. I just "Hoped" that people would put some thought into it. You have people here that will help them out like myself if its feasible....the trade Spoon and Mocchie for Jason Kidd is getting old. I guess I'm expecting too much from people. Like I said earlier in this post.......I'm proud to be apart of a forum with so many people with the knowledge they have.

I totally agree with you ABrocketsfans and I think alot of people are nodding their heads as they read your reply.

People are entitled to their own opinions and just because you dont agree doesnt mean its not feasible or stupid. I actually enjoy readying posts that might be a lil over the top (far-fetched) as long as people have backed it up with some facts/opinions. I cant stand the fact some posters just hurl insults at another posters ideas "r****d" or "lamest post ever" how old are these people?!?

If I disagree I will try to back up my statement with some points. For some reason we are very cynical on this board and seem to enjoy flaming others more than engaging in debate/discussion. Of course I wouldnt want the forum cluttered with meaningless threads but if its thought out and original so be it.

Now im going back into the

"should we go after SAR" thread and might jump into "Why we need Fish" if I have time. haha

Which is why this bbs is so awesome. In the rest of the internet, 90% of the stuff in threads is irrelevant to the topic.

Clutch should make a "push-button" form of preformulated responses for newbies under 100 posts or something, so when they go to reply, the screen would look like this--->

Thank you for posting on Clutchfans.net! Please choose from one of the following responses:

    • I agree!

    • I disagree...

    • Did you see that?!?

    • Where's Francis?

    • T-Mac rules!!!

    • Yao needs to be more agressive!

    • Are we going to make a trade soon?

    • Fire Gundy!!!
