So, I'm heading to Lake Chuck for some gambling and drinking for my bachelor party this weekend. Anyone know of a good place to watch the Astros on Saturday afternoon before we hit the boats? TIA.
They usually have the games on in the Casino's themselves. We went to the new casino and they had the astros game on when i got there.
Well, I'm scared that if I get that close to the casino, then I'll gamble rather than watch the game.
Hey Man have a great bachelor party. throw some dice and ogle some Louisiana stripers for me. We did lake charles for a bachelor party once but we rented a party bus to take us there and back. The vcr was stuck on fast forward and I think we watched 6 porns during the 2 hour trip. I'm also 95% sure the driver was powdering his nose on the trip back and watching the striper in the rear view mirror more than he was watching the road.
When I was 17, back in 1987, then through '90, I used to go to a bar there that I thought was cool called OB's (because I had a good friend that moved to LC). I think it was the first bar I ever hung out in where I could buy my own drinks and stuff because of the lower drinking age and they didn't really ID too hard. They played cool early '80s music when it was the late '80s. I liked that. Wow. Looks like it's still there (now a grill) but their website is crap: http://www.obsbarandgrill.com/ Ooooh, I just remembered that was the first place I ever saw Rolling Rock beer. I used to love that stuff.
Sit at a bar that has 25 cent video black jack... as long as you are throwing quarters in the thing you get free drinks. I've done that at New Orleans a few times and actually made over 100 bucks every time I play them... very easy to make a profit with them, just takes a while to get a good return, but if you're watching a game you've got all the time in the world.
About 5 years ago I found a sweet sports bar called Pepe's. The owner of that joint was awesome. If it is still open you should check it out. Also they had a country western joint that turns into a rave joint at midnight. Louisana cowboys with glow sticks. High comedy.
Stripers? You want him to ogle fish? Off topic....my mom went to L'Auberge du Lac on Tuesday. I asked her beforehand to play one dollar on one pull on a dollar slot machine for me. She did...and won me $80. Sweet!
Make sure to hit Darryl's bar and grill for the best sandwich ever in the history of mankind, the darryl's special. Assorted meat and cheese with gravy and jalapeno mayo on an awesome french roll. They'll have the game on. Or Steamboat Bills (which I believe is right across from the boats on I-10 for crawfish pistole's (which are like donuts stuffed with crawfish etoufee - minus the sugar on the outside).
Well, Darrell's was amazing. No one had the special. Four of us went with the shrimp and one of us had the BBQ brisket. It was so good, my very hungover ass drove back to have lunch, but they were closed. At least we think so. Door was open but the place hadn't been cleaned from last night and no one was in the building.
With the way the blackjack went, that my be a while! Thanks for the advice...it has entered the RM95 Restaurant Hall of Fame.
