Since the Favorite Basketball and Baseball movie threads have drifted away I thought I'd throw in a new movie thread. My favorite space movie is Aliens. I LOVE the alien series. Then there's all of the Star Wars flicks, and who can forget Space Balls? Space Balls was actually the first movie I ever remember seeing as a child in theatre. Anyway whats your favorite space movie? ------------------
Well, other than the obvious Star Wars trilogy, I have always loved Spaceballs... funniest spoof ever made. Also good are 2001: A Space Odyssey Don't know if Gattaca really counts, but that is my favorite. ------------------ "Any event, once it has occurred, can be made to appear inevitable by a competent historian." Lee Simonson
Star Trek - the last 3 Star Wars - all of them 2001 Lost in Space - cheesy but I liked it Apollo 13 - probably my favorite though not a sci-fi movie really Spaceballs - love Mel Brooks ------------------ And then, depression set in...
Independence Day JUST KIDDING!!! It wasn't /that/ bad, but it wasn't good either. Apollo 13, no doubt The Right Stuff is good too ------------------ "Up and down, inside out, outside in, some you lose some you win" -- DMB -> "Sweet Up and Down"
Just to clarify a little. The movies don't necessarily have to be set in space. I'm mainly thinking of movies that are set in space or involve creatures from space. Predator and Men in Black (a horrible movie) both count in this thread.
My top 5 1.The Thing 2.Aliens 3.Predator 4.2001 A Space Odyssey 5.Space Balls ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
Star Trek 4, 6, 7, and 8. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
No one liked Star Trek 2? I thought that one was the best of the Trek movies. ------------------ snap crackle pop
Alien was awesome. Aliens was good too, but the other two movies were bad. I thought the original was the best though. Any even-numbered Star Trek Movie. The first three Star Wars movies. Space Balls. Apollo 13. 2001. There is another movie, but the title escapes me at the moment. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! I liked Sex Trek II, the Wrath of Bob. Oh wait, Star Wars by far. ------------------ I'm smart nuff to count up to 12 kangaroos - Smeg insinuates that he's smarter than me b/c I don't know what a kangaroo is.

Am i the only one who thinks that Phantom menace was almost an EXACT copy of the original star wars? Change a little bit of the plot, throw in better special effects, and voila, carbon copy. Nice eye candy though. In Sex trek as well. no ... wait. ------------------ snap crackle pop
Anyone ever see the Leprechaun sequel that was in space? You know a movie's bad when it has Leprechauns in space. It's one of those movies they show at 2 in the morning on a friday night on cinemax. If you've got cinemax, you know what I mean.
Don't forget Critters. I saw that Leprechaun video box in the rental stores but never had the courage to take it. Life Force was okay. As was the puppet masters. OOOOooo invasion of the body snatchers!! i liked that movie. ------------------ snap crackle pop
Spaceballs was great! I actually remember seeing it when I was real young too. crazy. Lost in space was surprisingly funny. I liked it. Alien and Aliens scared the crap out of me when I first saw them. I liked Star Wars. The originals are still the best. ------------------
rockHEAD seems the most knowledgeable of the space movies. I surely enjoy these, like Star Wars and Aliens but I nearly forgot the great cult classics such as Bladerunner, and Dune....How could I? ------------------ I'm just a nut, trying to get a squirrel!
Unless you really like cheesy horror movies, avoid this at all costs. Easily one of the best 80's horror movies. Did anyone here see a pre-release screening of Jason X:in space? The reviews I read were pretty bad but anyone else have an opinion on it. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org [This message has been edited by DEANBCURTIS (edited April 12, 2001).]
I liked Outland (starring Sean Connery). And I am a fan of the Space Dog cartoon series on Atom Films. ------------------ Houston Sports Board
