It sounds like a Winged Migration copycat.

Saw it earlier this week...very good film. I was thinking before I saw it that interesting for a while and then maybe get a little on the boring side, but it keeps your attention the whole way through.

Without spoiling anything (though there isn't a lot to spoil) ... penguins have got to be one of the toughest species alive. It's amazing what all they can endure.

I thought the NHL didn't have a season this year.

It's nothing like that, except for the fact that French dudes filmed it. It was a really good documentary, and Morgan Freeman does an excellent narration job. Good movie to take the kids to also, but they don't sugarcoat the parts about predators and the hardships the Emperor Penguins go through.

I saw it, I liked it a lot. Penguins are very fascinating creatures, when Morgan Freeman said that the movie is a love story, it really is. I recommend everyone check it out.

It was Ok, but hardly worth:
    a. $6.50 + per person
    b. the aggrevation of dealing with wailing babies and talking kids at the movies.

    a. is a great reason to wait for video or discovery channel
    b. was a great birth control.

True, they didn't sugarcoat the bad parts, but they didn't exactly dwell on it either. If given the option to go see it all over again, I definitely would! I didn't have a problem with loud/whiny kids, and I didn't end up crying (although my best friend did), Morgan Freeman really did a great job, and I learned a whole lot about penguins. Overall, I think it was definitely worth my $6.50.

I also saw this last night with my girl becasue she adooooores penguins... too many "awwwwws" to count out of her. But I enjoyed it, I aaaalmost got a lil bored during the middle, and was ready for it to end when the ending was about 10-15 minutes away, but still a really good movie, incredible creatures!

Movies are only $6.50 in Houston?

It was good but not worth the price of admission. I don't think that it was significantly better than PBS. Also, I brought my 4 year old son and he was not really following the narration so he got a little bored. From his perspective it must have seemed like a bunch of penguins walking around for 90 minutes.

My recommendation is to save your money and watch PBS or wait for the DVD.

If you are the guy who thought the absolute best days of your school years were the days the teacher showed documentaries then you will enjoy this movie........I am that guy. I round it fascinating, and I scored big brownie points with my wife for taking her.

I think a science-fact movie can teach more about the real nature of life than any allegorical work of fiction, well partly because the motivation of penquins is expressed in a humanized way and partly because survival of the species is the driving force behind all behavior (except deviant behavior)
This movie shows there is a lot to be said for the mindless acceptance of the herd mentality (ha).

I think maybe though they should have promoted the movie a little different:

Yo yo yo man, these Penquins got it fo' real man, they bad ass!

We only paid $6.50 because we went at the twilight rate, and since this movie was so short we snuck in and watched the first half of Stealth too.
I think we got out money's worth.
