I haven't had a pair of Reebok's since the "Pump" was still popular. It's been a while! I've purchased mainly New Balance in the past few years. I have a pair of Nike's that I wear to work, but it's usually NB for me. Adidas has some of the best looking shoes, but they never seem to fit my foot well.
Did you know that Puma was founded by the brother of the founder of Adidas (Adolf, nicknamed "Adi" Dassler? Both companies have their headquarters in the small town of Herzogenaurach in Germany...
K-Swiss is now the only shoe I will wear - they are SO much more comfortable than any other brand I have ever tried, including Converse, Fila, etc etc. That's for every-day wear though.. for hoops, I still have to stick with my Cons.
From summer 2001 to Fall 2004 I wore the sme pair of blue and white Reebok classics. Fall 2004 to present I have worn the same pair of brown and tan Reebok classics. I love these shoes and they never ever fall apart. The only reason I got rid of the blue ones was because the soles were worn down so low from jogging in them over the years....Plus I had a new girlfriend, so I figured it was time for new shoes...Yeah that was really it, I probably would have kept on with the blues if it wern't for her.
You bunch of old guy mall walking New Balance wearers!!!! LOL IN the US, Nike holds a 36 percent share of footwear sold. Adidas = 11 percent Reebok = 9 percent If I had to guess, Id say New Balance probably tops out at about 3-4 percent at best. Adidas will market Reebok seperately, with the Reebok logo still being used in all its endorsements to include NBA apperal and what not. Kinda like Converse and Nike. As far as Basketball sneaks go. Behind the KING and NIKE, AND1 is next. Their sneaks are the ONLY comfy stuff on the market to me.
Don't have to feel old...New balance still makes some of the best running shoes as far as comfort and stuff. They sticked to their guns as far as performance and didn't really go for style like all the other companies and shouldn't make you feel old for wearing them...now if your wearing British Knights or something you got some issues lol.
Yes I have had my pair of K-Swiss for over 4 years now. Every couple of months for the last 2 years I have been saying I need to replace them, but man they are freaking durable. Not a tear or anything in them. Just a little dirty cuz I am too lazy to clean them now. I wear these all the time. These are my casual shoes. I wear them atleast 4 days a week. So they lasted 4 years of heavy use. Tried Puma....felt a lil too weird....felt too metro. Plus I have wide feet so the narrow Pumas are not that comfortable. For basketball...its all about them Adidas though.
Nothing but Nike graces these feet when I ball / hanging out casual. Right now I've got the Lebron's 2, which are most excellent and here in a couple of weeks I'm going to get the Lebron 20-5-5 which should stay with the same level of excellence.
Anyone seen the new adidas_1 ? They are supposed to be the first intelligent shoe and retail for around $300. http://www.adidas.com/campaigns/usadidas_1/content/index.asp
