I thought this was a Wade Miller thread but somehow the idiot Yankees made their way in here. SHAME SHAME! ------------------ The ox is slow but the Earth is patient.
I don't know about you guys, but this guy is looking every bit as good as Doc Gooden was his rookie year. I mean 23 K and 1 bb. Hello... In his first two games as a major league pitcher he's racking up big numbers. This is no fluke. The kid is for real. The fact that the Brewers got 2 good looks at the kid within a week and still couldn't hit him shows you that the hitters around the league may not figure this kid out. Hold on to your belt buckles, the kid may be taking us somewhere. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
PSJ, Wade Miller started 16 games last year. He does rock though! ------------------ www.swirve.com I think my w**** is dead.
I think Wade is really benefitting from the high strike call. The Brewers just couldn't lay off the high fastball and they couldn't hit it either. ------------------ The ox is slow but the Earth is patient.
He sure reminds me of Kevin Brown! His stuff and all. Maybe premature, but wow! ------------------ I'm just a nut, trying to get a squirrel!
I respectifully disagree. Last year the Brewers were dead last in the NL with a .246 team batting average and .325 on-base percentage. They were 14th (out of 16) in runs scored and slugging percentage. They struck out more than every other team except the Cardinals. Again, this is not meant to demean what Miller has done. He has pitched exceptional this year (plus I believe he was 4-0 last September). I am just not going to get too excited until the Astros start playing better competition. ------------------
