I was just wondering if anyone knows of any NICE housing ($1000-1500/month) arrangements in the area of: Sam Houston Prky & 1093 (Westheimer Rd) & 610…my parents want to move close to there for about 6 months in august….so if someone could inform me of how the area is around there (crime in particular)….. I would appreciate it…..since it’s for a short duration I don’t think many renting facilities would allow renters without a year long lease….any recommendations?...by the way i live in toronto and don't know squat about Houston...even though i lived there for a year in 1999. Thank You in advance.
pirc1 man you guys need to get over MacBeth...even if he has "stunning" good looks while living with a bunch of women..,....or if he's a 400lbs man living his dream through the internet...who really cares... anyway.....nobody with any advise
Just saying Westhiemer at Sam Houston doesn't narrow it down enough. Within a 3 mile circle of there you can be in Gangland, Hoyty-toyty Country Club land, All Asian Land (which is great if your Asian), Apartment World where you can live 3 stories up the stairs or some very nice tree covered single family neighborhoods. Generally speaking though it is a pretty great area to live in, the streets are all wide boulevards, there are a lot of great restaurants and movies, there is little graffiti or trash. Looking for a house to rent I would focus on an area between Westheimer and Memorial Drive, West of the Gessner, out to about Dairy Ashford. There will be probably 50 houses for lease within that area running form maybe $1200 up to as much as you want to spend. The house down the street from me has been for lease for two years, I think it runs $1800 a month and it's pretty upscale. Yes you may have a problem renting a house for 6 months; I think a 1 year lease is pretty much standard but a real estate agent will be better able to help you. e-mail me if I can give you any more information or if you want to know more about a specific neighborhood. I'm not a real estate agent , I just live in the area. By the way, don't plan on using I-10 during rush hours, it's under construction. The Westpark Tollway works really well though to go East-West. The Sam Houston Tollway (also known as Beltway 8) runs well to the north in the morning and to the South in the evening but clogs up if you trying to go the other way.
I grew up there. Nice area. If you are planning on working downtown it is hell, just because I-10 is a nightmare.
Dubious….thanks a lot for the information….very much appreciated…its actually for my dad ..he’s going be working close to the Galleria….. I figured that since its for a short time it may be better to get a hotel that provides a kitchen…also that way he doesn’t have to buy furniture either… … …so after searching around on the internet I found that Homestead Studio Suites were really good….they charge around $45/night..$1395/month…..that seems like a good rate…. Any Homestead village type places around the area of Sam Houston Prky & 1093 (Westheimer Rd) ??? i noticed that the closest Homestead village was aronud 90 and 610 which is not very far from the Galleria..though anything that might be closer where he would not have to take the highway???... thanks again for your help.
