Just finished compiling "Apocalypse Yao/Year #3". It is appx. 28 min. , 205 MB total. As before, it's in (.wmv) format. I encoded it at a higher bitrate than the previous year's installment. I don't feel it approaches R2K's (The Dude) high quality captures, but I hope you all will enjoy it anyway.

There were a few games I missed, due to forgetting to set the video recorder, thunderstorms, etc. I used sequences from 3 of R2K's game video clips.

    Those games were:
vs Seattle (3/10), vs Phoenix (3/12), and vs Trailblazers (11/22)

Hope this doesn't infuriate "The Dude" :)

(Note: If you see little sunglasses in the lower left hand corner of the screen, it was captured by him. Otherwise it was captured by me.)

Apocalypse Yao/Year #3 is comprised of 4 parts: 3 smaller parts (Part 1-3) under 20 MB and one large one (Part 4) that is 155 MB in size. I did this so you can download and watch the first 3 parts rather quickly while downloading the much larger 4th part.

Here are the torrent download links:

    Apocalypse Yao_Year #3 Part 1 (17 MB)

    Apocalypse Yao_Year #3 Part 2 (17 MB)

    Apocalypse Yao_Year #3 Part 3 (16 MB)

    Apocalypse Yao_Year #3 Part 4 (155 MB)

If anybody here wants to use the footage I captured to mix in their own favorite background music, effects, whatever to make their own mixes, you are welcome to do so. I've enjoyed all the different video mixes of Tracy and Yao everyone has posted here in the past. Last year LegendZ3 made some excellent video mixes. Keep up the great work, people.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback, TheBear01. I'm flattered to learn it was my Apocalypse compilation that got you started. Your video mix, The Special Two was excellent work, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

The files need to be downloaded via a bittorrent client such as azureus, bittornado, bitcomet, etc. first, then it's viewable in Windows Media Player.

I'm in the process of uploading to yousendit for those people that don't have or want to download the bittorrent client.

It will probably be a few hours before it's done uploading to yousendit, that way it will be simpler for you to download and watch.

Some videos I downloaded recently like "the special two" and "tmac the king of the street" don't go smoothly on my computer....
I don't know why, I downloaded some plug-ins but didn't work... I don't know much about video making, maybe the video makers are using a new codec?
Anyone can give me an advice? I will appreciate it.
BTW, the older videos like "the tale of yao" "the evolution of yao" don't have such problem.

    Hey Ecinokc, are you there?
I met same problem as I mentioned above when I was trying to watch the first 3 parts of your video.
i still have the last year's Apocalypse Yao , it works pretty well on my computer. So I think the problem maybe lies in the difference that you make the videos...
Could you tell me how to solve my problem if you know that?

I'm no expert, so I don't want to give you some wrong advice. Rockets2k is the expert around here, so I'm sure he'd be able to help you better. In the past, if I couldn't see the video or only hear only the audio, I would download the latest codec for Windows Media Player or the Xvid codec for r2k's videos. But since you can see the video, although choppy...don't think it would be a codec problem. Don't know what else could be the problem. Might not hurt to check for the latest codec updates updates for Media Player at Microsoft's site.

    Hey kevin, I'm still here....

I encoded last year's Apocalypse Yao on an older version of Windows Movie maker, that may be why it plays on your computer smoother. I encoded Apocalypse Yao/Year 3 on a newer versio 2.x, since I got a new computer since then.

Oh my freaking god!!!! Wow Ming was throwing bodies all over the place. I think he's the number one player causing injuries out on the court. I think a new kickname for Ming should be the Crippler!!! He was causing all that damage to people's bodies and didnt seem fazed at all. He is like a tank out there killing people. Ive seen the first three videos and I actually cried. Ming was blocking Swift and Amare all over the place. LOL!! These videos brought tears to my eyes! We are damn lucky to have Ming and TMac on this team that's for sure and hopefully Swift will have an impact next season. I'm stoked and pumped up for next season now!!!!!!

ecinokc, great work, one of the best Yao video compilation I ever saw.

After seeing the video, I can't imagine anyone question Yao's desire or heart or toughness. He's obviously very talented and skilled, if not for the freaking refs, if Yao could ever play 35+ min a night, he's gonna dominate the game ever since Shaq. I can't imagine any big guy can stop Yao. Maybe a Shaq in his prime.

I really think Yao is much better than Amare when it's all said and done.
