I hope Houston does the All-Star game right, and I'm confident they will. The city did an excellent job for the Superbowl and MLB All-Star game. Denver was a complete disaster (well atleast I thought so) and I think Houston will get it done right.
o comon, that whole space city thing is cliche'd by now, a fat guy would do fine. Im picturing Fat Albert in Rocket red, and Allstar 2006 Houston along his tummy.
Man, you guys are way off. If the logo seems too bland or doesn't "represent" the Rockets too well, there's an EASY solution, and here is in fact the new official version just released: It's part of a new trend and movement that basically states (paraphrased for clarity) "if it looks incomplete, just add a flying dildo or dildo-like object". I like it.
And look it has TEETH!! Nothing embodies furociousness and terror like a flying dildo or dildo like object with teeth!! it's getting too late
[aside]We have a Tigereye, Tigerbait and Tigermission on the boards. What is up with folks using Tiger in their names?[/aside]
I have not seen the actual jerseys yet, but Ive been told the jerseys will use the same colors as the court. Red, White, Grey, and Black. DC can you confirm this as well?
man i was thinking that maybe they should bring out the 94-95 houston jerseys and let the all-stars wear that during the big game. it would be nice to see the NBA show some type of homage to the host team for the all-star weekend.
DC your a good inside source and all but, are you kidding me? You are right about one thing...this is the court....that the Rockets currently play on as there own home floor, a floor millions of people see across the nation when the Rockets are on national TV many times during the season. Your telling me, all the Rockets will do for an event as celebrated as the All Star Game, is just remove the "Type R" logo at center court and replace it with the ASG logo? That's it? If this is true, this has got to be the cheapest move done for any NBA All Star game in its history. This is what NBA teams do for WNBA games, switch the logos at home court, rest of the court stays the same. Prominent events like the NBA All Star Game deserve fancy one-off court designs commemorating the event like the court design we saw in Atlanta a few years back. Imagine how this is gonna look on national TV when viewers across the nation lay there eyes on this cheap "WNBA-quality" rehash of the Rockets home floor. Sadly many of them, no doubt, will realize that this is really just the Rockets home floor, minus the teams logo at center court. If this is true, my high expectations for a grand All Star Game being played in Houston just took a serious "dildo-style" nose dive. After all, it takes lavish spending and pulling out all the stops to make an event grand. (See Super Bowl)
Remember Phoenix? That **** was crazy. Inside the three point line was all purple, and the jump circle was an orange sun.
Dude, I don't make the floor. Plus there are other graphics on the floor other than just that center logo. Do you have any idea how long it take to build an nba floor. It's not an over night job, it take a long time. Hell, it took two weeks just to resurface it (which is done at some point during the season every year)
Tke it easy, I'm not poppin off at you.....but I do have a slight issue with the Rockets brass with this decision. I know it doesnt take a short time to create a floor, but how long have the Rockets known they were hosting the All Star Game? Its not like they found out today. They've had time to plan this out and execute it properly.
