What do y'all feel about the ridiculous notion that some have (although not Tiger) that if he wins the Masters, it should be considered a grand slam? How do you change a definition of something like that? ------------------ www.swirve.com I think my w**** is dead.
Golf isn't a sport. Who cares!? Oops... ------------------ "You have to think optimistic. I think it's never over till it's over." - Clyde Drexler after losing at home to go down 3-1 to the Suns in '95
I think Tiger's being pretty lame talking about how it should be a grand slam if he wins. If he wanted people to love him more he should have been like "hey I just hit the balls in the holes with my clubs, it's your job to determine if I'm a grand slammer" On the equestrian note. When I think of dancing horses, I think of the Olympics. I can't believe so many people go out to wherever they do that event to watch horses walk around and jump bars. My question is when will they have the Dog Show as an Olympic event? ------------------ [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited April 05, 2001).]
In my mind a true Grand Slam has to take place in one calendar year. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
as far as equettrian and other non sports. you have no idea how bad it is. where I live, there is a horse farm. some 200 acres that sits vacant for one entitre year, than is used for one, ONE frikkin week. the show is "The Hampton Calssic" its the largest equestrian show in the world or something. by the way, this isnt 200 acres of the Texas plains. this land cost a fortune. I dont know how much the land cost, but just a one acre building lot would cost about 100k-200k in this part of Bridghampton. the neibouring houses all cost about 1.5-4million I just hate that they dont use the land ALL year long, and one stinkin week all the rich paople of the world come and act snobby. oh wait they are snobby my bad. peace ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
You know, you really shouldn't knock my equestrian sport until you try it. I have in fact tried golf and I still do not think it is a sport. If you try riding and think it is not a sport, then fine. I mean real riding too. Not that crap where they put you up on a horse and everyone follows everyone else and you don't do anything but walk. I mean in a real lesson and learning all the basics. You might find that it is harder than it looks. Besides we don't dance on the horses and the horses don't dance either. I am an athlete. I know there is a big stigma against us being a so-called rich sport and all, but I have to say not everyone that rides is a snotty little b****. Btw- I don't like Tiger because he is arrogant. I respect his ability, but I do not like him personally. ------------------ Poopy! And, yes, I have a boyfriend. Five papers and counting! wahoo!
I'm with BGM, if equestrian is a sport then so are dog shows. You think it's easy to get a dog to behave appropriately and run a straight line in front of thousands of spectators? ------------------ Nobody's entitled to a stupid opinion.
How is he arrogant Ali? From what I've seen of him he seems to simply be a great player who knows his ability. Did he say something to make you believe he was arrogant? Curious also... ------------------ The season's almost over...and I still really need that keg of Pepto-Bismol.
Like I said, don't knock it until you try it. Besides, it really depends on what your definition of a sport is. I happen to believe one thing, having ridden horses for twelve years now. You are entitled to your opinion, even if it is stupid. ------------------ Poopy! And, yes, I have a boyfriend. Five papers and counting! wahoo!
After twelve years it may be time to get off that high horse. WHOA! ------------------ Nobody's entitled to a stupid opinion.
Just my impression of what little I have watched of him play. And from stories that I have heard. Like I said, I think he is a great golfer, but I just don't like him personally. There is just something about him that rubs me the wrong way. ------------------ Poopy! And, yes, I have a boyfriend. Five papers and counting! wahoo!

Has Tiger made some personal attack toward you or something? How can you dislike someone for making their sport more exciting(IMO) and attracting so many kids to the sport? And for winning so consistently? Arrogant? If I had his ability I'd expect to win everytime I played too. ------------------ "...just because a clever person can complicate the discussion about the truth doesn't necessarily mean he or she is making any progress in finding it." I'm just messin... I love equestrian. TRIVIA QUESTION! Does anyone know why we call it an upset when an underdog beats a favorite? ------------------ Nobody's entitled to a stupid opinion.
Because a long time ago, a horse named Upset defeated the very heavy favorite Man-of-War in a race(I tihnk it was a big one, but I'm not clear on that). ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! The Rockets will be NBA champions. Believe.
I was only joking about the equestrian/dog show stuff b/c I knew someone liked dancing with horses. Honestly, the only reason I ever watched chick horse riding was the tight pants. You don't see that at dog shows... ------------------ [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited April 06, 2001).]
