grand slam or not , this is truly an amazing feat . So stop all your jealous bickering . ------------------ http://bbs.clutchcity.net
I don't even like golf but I was frozen to the tv watching that. Unreal. Anyone else find it interesting that the man who won last year, Vijay Singh, and the man who won this year, Woods, were both standing there with green jackets and neither was white? That had to be new to Augusta as well. ------------------ And then, depression set in...
As Charles Barkley said, you know this is a crazy world when the best golfer is black and the best rapper (eminem) is white. ------------------
Didn't Chris Rock say that first bobrek? I still hate Tiger and I hate it even more how the media fawns over him. It makes me sick. ------------------ Poopy! And, yes, I have a boyfriend. Five papers and counting! wahoo!
It wouldn't suprise me if Chris Rock said it first, but Chuck was taking credit for it. ------------------
Somethin' tells me he doesn't listen to much rap. ------------------ "So you say you want some intelligent responses? I say give me something intelligent to respond to." -- Dimwits beware, B-Ball freak tells it like it is. Sing it bro!
Back to Tiger, I think you would have to consider him the greatest golfer of all time. He is simply dominating. The best testimonial comes from the players he's playing against. They are afraid to even mention his name. Duval still can't give him any props, mentioning the eleven in a row by the other golfer, and never once saying that Tiger took this title from him. They all think they lost it. No. Wrong. Tiger took it from you. Just like he has done for the past 2 years. I think their denial is the funniest thing ever. The only way to beat Tiger is if they acknowlege his greatness and then challenge it. It doesn't do you any good to pretend. I think Mickelson came the closest by saying in order to beat Tiger I just can't make any mistakes. That's a step is the right direction. If you ask me they need to turn their attention to Woods. They need to find a weakness. And even though golf isn't considered a head to head game, I think it is. They need to find his weakness. Everybody has one. Tiger is no different. And As Jordan said, the game becomes mental. Most athletes are pretty much the same, but it's how you play the game in your head. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
This big thing about Tiger is that he brought ATHELICS to Golf Tiger pushes weights Tiger pounds balls all day he works to improve his game 10~15 years ago I the the Avg age was about 40 . . .now it has to be about 30 the fuzzy zeolers cannot compete because they out of shape They use to drink beers between holes NOT A CHANCE NOW . . . Rocket River ------------------
You know, I don't watch golf, but I've read about it in the papers and on ESPN and I don't really like Duval. He seems like a very sore loser. I can understand that they don't want to say Tiger took anything from them. The game really is an individual one and I'm sure they get sick of talking about another golfer. But, there is a time to realize the greatness of a player. I would think now is one of those times. ------------------ And then, depression set in...
I must have missed something concerning Duval. Everything I have read from him after the Masters seems very complimentary towards Woods. He mentioned how Woods major streak is incomparable to anything else; even overshadowing Dimaggio's hitting streak. The only problem I see with Duval, is he doesn't seem to have much personality. I didn't see any interview with him after the match, but you have to remember, he just missed 2 makeable putts on 17 and 18. He had to be pretty upset with himself. And, there isn't any golfer in the world who would admit choking on those putts due to the presents of Woods. ------------------
He does come off as a sore loser. He declined interview after choking on the last few holes. That makes him come off as a sore loser, especially with the fact he tries to find the negatives in his own game rather than acknowledge Tiger's greatness. ------------------
Oh and Tiger has a niece named Cheyenne Woods, something like 12 years old. Keep an eye out for her, shes already tearing up the juniors. ------------------ Whatever you want to do, you have to do something else first.
Why do you hate tiger? Do you personally know him, and hate him as a person? Do you dislike the sport he plays, so you take it out on the best golfer? Do you dislike the way the Media, that he cannot control, loves him? Do you dislike the way he donates money weekly and has the Tiger Woods Foundation? Do you dislike the way he goes out and tries every day? Personally, I think that the fact he is black is great. It helps tear down racial walls a bit, African Americans can play golf and tennis, and White people can rap and play basketball. ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
Whoa there. I never said anything about him being black. I agree with you that it is a great thing that he has done for golf. I respect that he is a good player. I just don't like him and I am tired of hearing the media (who he does not control like you said) fall all over themselves to talk about him. He is like the Lakers or the Yankees. I hear about them all the time and I just don't want to anymore. There is something about him I just don't like. I believe I explained this in the is golf a sport thread. ------------------ Poopy! And, yes, I have a boyfriend. Five papers and counting! wahoo!
