I know some of you guys don't like Rich Lord, but Granato is clearly the weakest of the 610 bunch. If he disappeared I wouldn't miss him at all. And that golf show is soooooo bad it's a joke. I like golf but that show is unbearable.

 

I didn't hear all of it, but it was mostly him joking around, like most of last year. He was saying while he was in town he was going to ransack CD's house and camp in his yard until he was re-signed. It sounded like if he was a Rocket we would be a weekly fixture again on 610. He joked about the T-Mac softball game saying if Van Gundy was playing he would try to hit the ball at him when he was at bat. Nothing serious, just the normal Barry comedy routine.

 

This is all from memory. Barry is in Atlanta. Not playing golf today because of thunderstorms. He likes the Stromile move, thinks his athleticism and upside are a big plus. Hasn't watched much college basketball so he couldn't give an opinion on Luther Head. Said that he will play next year, even if it isn't for the Rockets. However, his agent has been talking with the Rockets and he wants to play here. He joked about ransacking CD's house after the charity softball game this weekend. Other than that, just a lot of joking around with John. Apparently Barry is a scratch golfer. He also said if he comes back he'll call into 610 every week. Overall, sounds like he's coming back though he wasn't that commital about it.
One more thing, he didn't seem to have a clue about what was going on in the NBA. Hadn't heard anything about Finley, didn't understand the 'Alan Houston' rule, and didn't know about Ryan being resigned (neither did John). So, I guess the stuff they say about players not paying attention to the media is true in some cases.

 

the funny thing about this thread is Granato and the bunch will probably get to read this........

 

dammit - I missed this interview, too. I'm just not seeing the posts fast enough. And I can't get am stations on the radio in my office.

If I'm ever able to know about an interview before it happens, I will capture it and post it here.

 

Give Granato a break.. He is my favorite

 

The best was when he was making fun of his brother for answering the phone at 9:00am the morning after they won the championship.

"How's it feel to win a championship?"

"Eh, it's cool."



I really want Barry back next year.

 

Rich Lord is a big goof. If I have to listen to one more Bruce Springsteen is a Rock N Roll God, I'm gonna puke. Springsteen's music is more Pop than Rock.

Lance Armstrong is a terrific cyclist and competes in a tough event but that doesn't make him the best all around athlete in the world like "Chumley" Lord says (Charlie Pallillo was the "Tennesse Tuxedo" of the broadcast when he was paired with "Chumley" in the afternoons on 610..).

Granato just likes to argue for the sake of arguing. It's part of his schtick.

I like Lance. He's funny and knowledgeable. He may be a little stubborn at times but he's a good guy,

 

610 does streaming audio now.

 

My most feared talkshow team that could ever be formed :

Russ Small and John Granato.

(I can only speak for the time I was in Houston).
