For my birthday I wanted to get a couple of courtside tickets to a regular season Rockets game and wanted to know what the real prices are. I say "real" price because I'm assuming that they get swept up by scalpers and/or ticket websites well before the game.

So, has anyone ever actually purchased courtside tickets? If so, how much? I have a feeling I might have to go alone ($$$), but I'll do it.

You can get seats behind the basket for a few hundred dollars. Price goes up dramatically as you go towards center court.

Or you could go see the Comets courtside for like 50 bucks :).

A few years back, I sat courtsde for a game - right on the front row at center court. Actually, they were Les' seats and were given to me for a game for my help with the arena campaign.

Anyway, the guy beside me had season tickets and paid $700 per seat per game for his. That was in 2001. Also, keep in mind that none of those seats are available through the box office. All of them are sold out as part of season ticket packages. You can probably get them from a scalpe...er...ticket broker. :)

Usually when you do the option to buy tickets by ticketmaster and actually pick the highest seats settings or best avaialable there are courtside tickets always there but they go all the way up into the thousands of dollars.

I had the luxury of being courtside for game 1 this year against sacramento and also sitting behind the Dallas bench when we beat them by like 40 in the regular season.

Yep, that's what I always do, behind the basket, you get seats closer to the action for a heck of lot less money.

I remember that once right when Barkley retired, I was able to sit in the corner section, somewhat obstructed view, for about 35. But then again, it may have been because it was against the grizzlies.

Reliant had courtside seats under the basket. I got to sit in them 4 times, all against fairly boring teams (Golden State, pre-Lebron Cleveland, Clippers, and Wizards). However, seeing Dream and Barkley and Drexler and even Pippin was worth having to watch them play scrubs.

I think face was over $100 easily. Maybe $200. If you sit under basket you get to hang with the power dancers...or you used to. This is before they went all PC and put fat guys in the dance squad. who wants to see that?

I sat courtside once. I think it was 2 years ago against the Suns. I enjoyed bring that close, but I really couldn't see what was going on. It was like I was too close. Call me crazy, but being like in the 10th row on the lower bowl is perfect for me.

I sat court-side a few times. A friend of a friend worked for 740 and I got their tickets. They just said "VIP" on them. I sat right behind the opposing team's bench. This was in like '96 & '96. It was only for crappy opposing teams though. One time I sat right behind Kenny Smith when he was playing for Denver. After one game I went on the court and asked Elie for an autograph, he just looked at me and walked away.

I don't know how much I would pay for that. It was cool, but I think I could get something more for that kind of money.
