So in the new bargaining agreement each team can release a player so they wont count towards the luxary tax. Even if the player is released (ie Finley) He still recieves all of they money left on his contract. IN finleys case 50 some million. Say now he signs with the rockets or any other team. So he gets what the mavs are paying him and a new contract with the new team? SO he's getting like two contracts? Wouldnt players want to be released then if they want to make more money?
And then even better they cna go to a team they like. Can anyone clear this up and if this is in fact the case with the new CBA?
