I have Windows 2000 on one of my laptops, and I want to boot the computer to MS-DOS so I can completely format my harddrive, and reinstall W2K from the beginning. How can I do this without having to use a boot diskette, I did it before once but I can't remember how
WIn2K doesnt have MSDOS under it anymore...and even if it did, you cant use DOS that is running from your hard drive AND format the same drive at the same time. just get a boot disk and do it that way... stick a floppy in and format it...click the checkbox that tells it to install the system files and you shoudl be able to fdisk and format... or even better...during the W2K install, you have the option to delete/create/format your drive/partitions...just do it from there. dont make things more difficult than you have to.
no prob tm1... quick question. I finally got around to checking my email, and replied to the one you sent...but after sending three messages, I saw that my viruscanner had checked my outbound messahes and showed a connection error....would you check and let me know if you got my reply? Im worried now that the prog may have dropped them and they arent showing in my outbox
