    1. Do you read much?
Yes. All the time. That is what I get for being and Anth and English major.

    2. Why? Why not?
Because of school and because I like to.

3 What do you read (categories, not specific books)?
Anthropology. I'm really into the peopling of the Americas, human evolution, and osteology. I also love to read fiction: fantasy, sci fi, anything that sounds good. As for literature, I love American lit. and I actually like some poetry that I am reading now: Yeats and Blake. Pretty good stuff.

    4. When? At night. During the day. When it rains. When I have to write a paper. All the time.

    5. How (1 at a time, fast, slow, read 50 pages, ignore for 2 years, then finish)? I read fast. Always have. If fiction, one and at time. If for school, I can read multiple and keep them all straight.

    6. How often/long do you read? All the time.

    7. As books become more and more digital, will you embrace it or cling to the paper versions? I love the paper versions. I love old books, especially those with kickass illustrations. I also have to admit that I like digital ones. Especially when I need a copy of Darwin's works and I can find them online instead of driving two minutes to campus and checking it out of the library.

    8. How many people have you met in your life? [IMG] Hmm, met a lot. I only know two people really well.

btw- why are you in extreme pain? [IMG]

    1. Do you read much?

Yes, I read anywhere from 4 to 5 online newspapers a day, two hard copy newspapers a day, a couple of plays a week and at least a novel a month.

    2. Why? Why not?

My mommy told me "never talk about things you know nothing about". I like being informed.

3 What do you read (categories, not specific books)?

    newspapers, Plays, Biographies, fiction

    4. When?

morning, noon, night (pretty much all day)

    5. How (1 at a time, fast, slow, read 50 pages, ignore for 2 years, then finish)?

I'm probably reading three or four things at once. Although I do have a bad habit of starting a book, and getting a few hundred pages into it, and then getting bored (or busy) and not finishing it.

    6. How often/long do you read?

    as stated above, constantly

    7. As books become more and more digital, will you embrace it or cling to the paper versions?

I like both, but I hope paper stays around forever

    8. How many people have you met in your life?

    you're joking right?

    Hope you feel better Rimmy!

    1. Do you read much? Not as much as I'd like.

    2. Why? Why not? Because I'm not on planes as much as I was before... oh yeah, and I also suck.

3 What do you read (categories, not specific books)? I hate to admit it, but I jumped from African literature to Star Wars. hehe.

    4. When? Well I can't read Star Wars novels in public, so I either do it on planes w/ other geeks that have no life or I do it at night when my wife is asleep.

    5. How (1 at a time, fast, slow, read 50 pages, ignore for 2 years, then finish)? Once I make it past the first 30 or 40 pages in a book, I'm hooked and will finish the book in 3 or 4 days... getting the first 30 or 40 pages out of the way w/o working on something else is a hassel.

    6. How often/long do you read? one to 5 hours.

    7. As books become more and more digital, will you embrace it or cling to the paper versions? I'm okay w/ reading off of machines, but I'd rather have paper in my hands.

    8. How many people have you met in your life? 37,000,000... that guy in West Virginia was a schmuck.

    1. Do you read much?
Yep - heaps. I am never without a book "on the go"
    2. Why? Why not?
Because Vince Carter and David Robinson tell me to. Seriously though, I really enjoy it and it is enriching.
3 What do you read (categories, not specific books)? Anything that is well written.

    4. When?
At night before going to sleep or laying next to the pool in summer. I spend a lot of time traveling, so on planes and in airports. Also, I have two golden rules when it comes to reading. Never go to the airport to pick someone up, or to the Doctor's without a book.

    5. How (1 at a time, fast, slow, read 50 pages, ignore for 2 years, then finish)? One at a time, and I always have a queue lined up to read next

    6. How often/long do you read?
Before bed, 10 mins, on planes/airports, by the pool hours at a time.

    7. As books become more and more digital, will you embrace it or cling to the paper versions?

Much easier on the eyes to read the paper version.

    8. How many people have you met in your life? 42

    Questions:

    1. Do you read much?

    Yes
    2. Why? Why not?

Normally, because I enjoy it... right now, because I prefer to pass [IMG].
3 What do you read (categories, not specific books)?

lots of novels, most before 1970 or so... I think modern lit has gone to **** [IMG]

some poetry, quite a bit of philosophy; also, political magazines, sports mags as well

    4. When?

    every night, and during work
    5. How (1 at a time, fast, slow, read 50 pages, ignore for 2 years, then finish)?
I prefer to read one thing at a time. Unfortunately, with school... not possible. I try to read start to finish.

    6. How often/long do you read?

I usually do my reading in large blocks, except when I'm on the subway

    7. As books become more and more digital, will you embrace it or cling to the paper versions?

I like paper versions. Computers make my eyes hurt [IMG].

    8. How many people have you met in your life?

I've met tons, since I'm active in democratic politics... I've KNOWN far fewer. That's a strange question... I wonder what the answer would be numerically...

You people make me laugh! I am enjoying this very much...I don't care what JV says about the questions being "weird." [IMG]

    1. Do you read much?
Yes, as much as time permits.

    2. Why? Why not?
    I am a consumer

3 What do you read (categories, not specific books)?
religion, philosophy, art/art history, literature, political theory, poetry, sociology, magazines, and cereal boxes.

    4. When?
Generally at night, but sometimes during the day.

    5. How (1 at a time, fast, slow, read 50 pages, ignore for 2 years, then finish)?
I read anywhere from 1 - 5 books at a time. Funny, I seem to be the only one...I rotate the same night or different nights...depends. Sometimes I read 10 pages, but the book aside for 2 years, and then finish it. Reading rate depends on density of material.

    6. How often/long do you read?
30 minutes +...If something is good, it can keep me up for hours.

    7. As books become more and more digital, will you embrace it or cling to the paper versions?
I could read articles digitally, but never books. I am a collector. I love books -- thir look, their smell, their feel. I had a mentor in college (just someone I respected and talked to every day -- not a teacher) who had a collection of about 8,000 books...that is what I want. My father himself has about 3,000.

    8. How many people have you met in your life?
1...my wife. She is all that matters. Oh yeah, Jeff, too, cuz he might read this...2, 2 people! [IMG]

    PSJ,

You are a writer? What do you write? Why do you find reaing to be a hindrance to writing? Why can't it be a help?
