The Remington 710 in .30-06 shot very well. It seemed most accurate in 180 grain. (winchester power point plus) Surprisingly, I did not have good results with the core-lokt ammo, but I was pleasantly surprised at the moderate recoil. I shot nearly 60 rounds and hardly felt any effects. I am very happy with it and recommend it to those interested in rifles/hunting. ..Never to early to hone your "snipinging" skills [IMG] !
The people at Carter's said they were weary of the new rifle since the earliest shipments had recalls, but the problem has thus been corrected.
BTW, I purchased mine for $319.00 at Academy. For the money, you can't beat this rifle!

I saw a news special on a remington rife that would fire on it's own when you took the safety off. Apparently many people have been shot and killed by this malfunction. Better be careful dude.

The ten commandments of Firearm safety should be etched in your memory forever!

    1. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

    2. Firearms should be unloaded when not actually in use.

    3. Don't rely on your gun's safety.

    4. Be sure of your target and What's beyond it.

    5. Use proper ammunition.

    6. If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, handle with care.

    7. Always wear eye and ear protection when shooting.

    8. be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before shhoting.

    9. Don't alter or modify your gun and have it serviced regularly.

    10. Learn the mechanics and handling characteristics of your firearm.
