just wondering what you guys think....the guy has'nt done anything in his last few summer league games... i thought he was supposed to be the most NBA ready player in the draft????...he can't dominate the summer league???...that's a joke...he went 1-7 with 6PTS and 4 fouls....against a guy named Harrison....just shows you those ESPN punks don't know anything ....watch Charlie V. be the rookie of the year ------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/8656304 It was a frustrating day for Bogut, who was 1-for-7 with six points and four fouls in 26 minutes when he was ejected. He was also dominated on the defensive end by Pacers center David Harrison, who scored 14 points in the first half with Bogut guarding him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
it's a little early to call him a bust. but i believe he is going to be considered one because he just isn't going to be great. i think he'll be good, but nothing worthy of a #1 overall pick. i think 14 ppg, 8 rpg is the maximum you'll see out of bogut in his career.
He's also had two double-doubles (21 and 13, 16 and 11) and is averaging 12.5 points, 1.3 blks, nine boards and 1.5 assists. So, yeah, a little early for all that.
I thought it was pretty forced, I think I wrote and re-wrote it to a point where it wasn't that entertaining. Ah well.
oh sorry...did'nt know that...those are some decent numbers.... Kelly Dwyer....just wondering what you think of Charlie V?....and if Joey Graham has the potential to be a Ron Artest someday?...its nice to know a professional writer read your post.
They pay me, but I'm not professional. I don't really want to comment on any rookies until at least a preseason. I'm sorry, but I'm also on record (back in 1999) as calling Andrei Kirilenko "the next Martin Murrsepp." Best keep my mouth shut!
I remember that guy! But anyway, on the topic at hand... yeah, it's waaaay too early to call anyone a bust yet. Secondly, David Harrison (the guy who was covering Bogut) is no joke. He's a 7-1, nearly 300-pound beast with a fair amount of athleticism to boot. He's a guy in the same league as a Lonny Baxter, where I kinda wonder why his team bothers playing him in the summer leagues. He's got a roster spot... he did see court time last year, after all.
Being from Australia we are getting numerous articles in regards to Bogut each week with the news he got ejected from his game today just coming out. Alot of the media in Australia turned on Andrew because of the comments he made in regard to Luc Longley which I still believe was taken out of context. Personally from an Aussie standpoint I hope he does well just for the main fact it may raise the awareness about the NBA in Australia.
c'mon don't you remember what they said about yao ming? don't be one of those guys. i don't know jack squat about bogut and i've never seen anything short of a video clip of him playing, but i do know summer games won't break your career.
Andrew Bogut is the real deal. He was ready for the NBA when he was 19. But yeah, probably not a super star.
Exactly, especially after his first week in the regular season. You just can't call someone a bust this early. If he's looking like Jay "Can't Miss" Williams in February, okay, THEN you can dish it out. On the lighter side, neither of the Raptors first rounders (Villanueva, Graham) are playing right now because they're hurt. Great sign. Evan
That's not a good analogy. The Summer League is either the equivalent or a step lower in competition Bogut saw in college. Yao was going up against a level of competition he never had seen his first few games in the NBA. I have my doubts about Bogut, but I'm not going to judge him based on some Summer League games.
Harrison missed the last 2 months of the season (his rookie year) with a knee injury. The summer leagues served to test his rehab status. He scored 16 in 14 minutes on Bogut. He has offensive skills, but fouls like crazy, is getting technicals in summer league (WTF?) and doesn't rebound well. He has size and has gotten in better shape. His flab caused him to drop to the end of the 1st round last year. We Pacer fans hope he becomes a very cheap facsimile of an Eric Dampier, a serviceable post presence. That would be a steal for the last pick of round 1.
Yeah, if I remember right, he came in and did a pretty decent job while Jermaine O'Neil was suspended. Then he tweaked an ankle or a knee and lost PT, then JO came back and he got scrub minutes. But he definitely showed potential on the big stage.
