Bob Weiss is a great hire, he has the respect of the players, and will change the offense. Though Seattle kept getting lumped in with the Mavs and Suns as a bunch of runners, they were actually the third-slowest team in the league last year.

Weiss' teams in San Antonio and LA were some of the faster squads in the league. Seattle won't win as much next year (no Daniels, Allen not playing for a contract, Fortson a year older), but they will run more and be as entertaining.

Weiss was a joke when he was a head coach the first time around. He's either gotten exponentially better or the Sonics just screwed the pooch.

Weiss coached the pre-Robinson Spurs and the Clippers when Ron Harper was hurt. I'd check out basketball-reference before calling him a "joke."

The three "successful" seasons there in the middle were with the Hawks and I watched most of those games. He was way out of his league. The team appeared to be run horribly and should have been better than they were. So, yes, I'll stand by him being a joke previously.

I dunno, I put a lot of faith in b-r's "expected W-L," and he seemed to be doing a fine job. We'll see at the end of the season.
