ok today is the first game for the rockets in their summer league. i'm mad that the games won't be televised but i'm sure we can still talk about it. they play the pacers today at 3pm so hopefully we get some kind of update. malik badiane and luther head are the two main players that i'm hoping does really good. also, is chuck hayes still playing even with that court case or whatever on his back?
I have NBATV and all NBA channels all year long. don't ask anyways, are you sure they won't show them there? if they do, i will try to keep updating
Hope that Head and Badiane will show what kind of stuff they are made of and hopefully we can get positive updates on our PF hunting..
best summer league ever = head shooting over 50% from the floor and 40% from 3 while playing lock down defense and showing great PG skills. and badiane averaging 14 rebounds and 4 blocks per game. good summer league = head does same as above but badiane gets sent back overseas. expected = head shoots well and plays tough defense while showing he can handle the PG spot for 12 minutes a night.
Strong words for a player that was picked at the end of the 1st round and has yet to even make an NBA roster. I like Head... but James was a major contributer on the Detroit team that won a Championship in 04 while Sura was one of the main reasons the Rockets went from sub-500 as late as Nov to a 50 win team last year.
I am excited about the summer league only because of Badiane. I mean really there is nothing else to be excited about. Luther Head will be on the team no matter how he plays he will be on the team. I am interested in how well he does but not excited. Badiane on the other hand MIGHT show that he deserves a roster spot which is exciting but nobody else on the Summer league roster has a chance.
i was watching the summer league games yesterday and one player that stood out was Andray Blatche. as a 2nd rounder at the 44th pick, i think he could be the steal of the draft. this kid can run the floor very good and was always active and can also handle the ball. the flaws i saw in his game was his shot selection and he is still very thin. he took too many shots but i guess he wants to show what he has to offer for the wiz.
I saw Blatche too and he had his moments. I thought he was a little helter-skelter but he has some potential. Chris Taft acted like a knucklehead a few times. I watched most of the Celts - Suns game and Gomes looked like a steal for where he was drafted. I was disappointed that Green didn;t get the ball much last night.
Allright, are any BBS members at the Summer League games? if so please post any pics/analysis...Thanks.
Is Badiane even on the team? I thought there was that thing about in order to play, we had to sign him. After that we to keep him or cut him loose, no more back to Europe and we still own his rights.
Insidehoops.com will more than likely have boxscore in a while. About the only website I know that talks about summer games.
I am just guessing, but I would venture to say the Rox lost to the Pacers(not that it matters). Did anyone see Pacers roster(Artest,Bender). What the hell!! Is Artest that rusty. Still looking for a boxscore which is more important than final score.
Shouldn't the Rockets game already be finished by now? And we still know nothing about it? http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/summer_league_2005.html
Are trying to tell me that we dont have at least one member on this board with info on the game.......................
