ran into one of the scouts on the way out to lunch. VERY enthused about Luther Head. Said "he's a real player"

Luther Head seems to have what it takes to be successful in the NBA. Athletic, tireless and speedy, a good shooter and a great defender already. I think he's gonna surprise a lot of people next season.

    thanks for the info, yaomania.

I'm excited that Head could potentially be part of the backcourt rotation of a championship contending-team.

I have no idea, the thread didn't say and I don't live in Houston. If you are recording something else and happen to run across it, then snag it if you have the time and stick it in the Texans, Astros, and Comets Forum.

    Thanks R2K.

That's what I've been trying to say all along. People will soon realize this when the season starts.

I wouldn't worry about him. If things progress well he should get his fair share of Head during the season.

Now now people... pace yourselves on those double entendres. If reports are true, we'll be getting Head for years to come. We don't want to shoot our load to soon.

Damn, now I'm doing it. :)

One of the better players during my high-school years last name was "Head," and when he was on the bench, the crowd would start chanting...

"WE WANT HEAD! WE WANT HEAD!"

    Sorry, had to share that...

The reason why we aren't pursuing a guard in the draft right now (besides Spree that is) is because Head will be a really good player a few years from now.

This should prove once and for all that CD isn't calling the shots, JVG is, and that's why all of a sudden the team is making smart moves/trades/picks. Filling up holes on the cheap is going to be the JVG way to fill up our roster with quality players, once the next couple of seasons are over and we get rid of all the glut that we had to take on because of salaries from the Rudy T era. I am excited about the next couple of off seasons.

I think you're right. JVG isn't the SPLASH!!! kind of guy -- he's more of a drop-here-and-a-drop-there kind of guy. He'll do what he did last summer (apart from the T-Mac deal, which was a no-brainer): look for a really good deal on a 2nd-tier player, then pick up a couple of key pieces when he can't find that. That approach isn't sexy, but it builds good, solid teams.

This is what the ugly spurs have been doing for offseasons. The sexy Knicks and Lakers (from 2 years ago) have been doing/did otherwise.
