I have an older X-Box that keeps crashing, of course Microsoft will look @ and fix for $90.00, so I bought another one from a pawn shop. My actual question is does X-Box have a data cable that I can transfer my hard drive from one to another, hate to run into town and find out they do not make one.

I think, and I may be wrong, that the only way to do it would for the boxes to be modded. You couldnt do a hard drive copy but you could FTP the files from your old xbox to your computer and then down to your new xbox.

Might try that, I just do not want to lose all my EA Sports awards, I want to go buy NCAA 2006 Football.

I'm not an expert on this type of thing, mostly since I don't have an Xbox, but the modding thing sounds like a nice solution. I also wonder if you could possibly get a memory card and use that to transfer data from one HD to another. The only thing is I don't know how the Xbox works; I assume this would be possible, although depending on how much data you have, it may take a little while.

So basically a really slow $20-$30 data cable, if it can even do the job. Hopefully someone with a Xbox and Xbox memory card(s) can explain this better. You can do a lot of things with a modded Xbox though, so it may just be better to mod it, FTP the files, and use these features for anything else.

I have never used the mem cards so I dont know if you can do it or not, but if you want to copy the hard over to the new box you have to have a modded (HARD or SOFT) x-box..

http://www.xbox-scene.com/ all the info you need is at that link, you just have to dig for it...

Do mind if I ask how much you paid for your pawn-shop x-box?

The only way to do it without invalidating your X-Box (and I mean to keep Microsoft from banning from playing you on live) would be to use a memory card and copy the files. One card can get a decent amount of stuff on there. You'll have to fill up the card and transfer a decent amount of times depending how much stuff you got on there, but it's the best way to go.

You could get an action replay and copy the files to your computer.
