My best friend is a vampire, which was filmed at Milby H.S., was shot during the spring semester. There is one scene where the two buddies are walking down one of the hallway's, it was shot early in the morning and includes many of the regular students going to their first class. The school isn't used that much in the movie, though. It's funny to see alot of the changes that the city has gone through over the years, especially from the older movies.
just curious, was Tin Cup actually set in Houston?( do they ever mention houston or texas for that matter in the story?) i remember when they were filming in Kingwood, everyone was running around town dropping names like it was going out of style... "Oh, I just ran into Renee at the salon, and Kevin was driving down Northpark and waved at me!"
I think a lot of it was shot in Houston in West U and when he goes to the public school I think that's Lamar next door to St. Johns. I remember seeing it with my ex G-F here in MN and telling her that really reminds me of Houston. So I wasn't too surprised to see that it was filmed in Houston. Of course my GF never having been to Houston couldn't believe any part of Houston could look like West U. Her vision of Texas like most Northerners is of the TV show Dallas. Speaking of Houston set TV shows did anyone watch the NBC miniseries Kingpin? Parts of that were supposed to be set in Houston. I remember laughing at one part where a drug dealer wearing a Steve Francis pinstriped jersey was at a driving range and in the distance you could brown hills with no vegetation.
I know Tin Cup was already mentioned...but I always remember a small scene when they are driving the camper to the Open and they use a bit of Spring Cypress as the road they are driving down. There was the pine trees and the white picket fence where they later built Gleanloch Farms.
Back around 1999 i was walking home from school in galveston when i noticed my neighbors house turned in to a movie set. There was a big 18-wheeler with rv's and stuff. They were filming a muhammad ali movie for the usa network. The guy told me to get off of the set and i yelled back "this is my house!" Anyway...they payed my neighbor like $2000 to use his house because it resembled a miami beach house.
Which scene was another brother in Arlington Road? I have the DVD, ill do a print screen if you can tell me what scene he is in I also knew alot of extras on Rushmore cause they filmed alot of the gym scenes at my school, along with the school play at the end of the movie. The scene where they showed Max doing back flips at a basketball game and they show a closeup of Herman (Bill Murray) and Dirk (the Dennis the Meanace kid) in the stands, about 5 of my friends are sitting around him.
Anyone remember that movie Powder? I'm pretty sure it was filmed in Houston being how a bunch of my friends were extras in the movie during the cafeteria and classroom scene.

I don't know if anyone remembers that Houston punk band "Spunk", but the lead singer was an extra in Robocop 2... in a video arcade scene. And parts of Rushmore were also filmed at Kinkaid (some of the outdoor scenes).
was filmed in my 'hood . They used my mom's house as the GIVEN Mexicans-in-a-black-movie setting. ROTFLMAO... !!! Doesn't AnotherBrother have a part in that one, too?? Or was that part laying in the cutting room? I must be in there, because I was living in Fifth Ward at the time?
I recognized every part of Houston in Rushmore except for the Dad's barber shop. Anyone know what street it was on?
