Bob Schneider (of the Scabs, previously the Ugly Americans) has what was a side project, called "Lonelyland". I think he's taking that a little more seriously now. Anyway I first saw him performing on the Austin Music Network back in February of 2000, doing a song called "Bullets". I dropped what I was doing, got on the Internet, and bought his album immediately.

Oh and my current favorite band is Hoversteak. Look for the debut album in June of 2001.

There are a couple of things that are warming my cd player of late:

Deltron 3030- This is a hip-hop record that features Dan the Automater (of Dr. Octogon and Handsome Boy Modeling School, Del the Funke Homosapien and Damon Albarn of Blur. This is a cool hip-hop concept album that actually works. Beats and ryhmes like you've never heard.

Daft Punk- A French electronic duo who done the miraculous: they managed to fuse Foreigner, Eddie Van Halen, 10cc and other cheesy MOR music from the 80's with 70's funk to make a really cool dance record. It makes no sense, but it works somehow.

The Doves- They are a My Bloody Valentine-like group...I am glad swirling guitars are back.

Ladytron- The sound like Gary Numan and the Human League had a child who really likes to play Kraftwerk's instruments. They are from Liverpool and sing various songs in French and Japanese. Yes, you read that correctly. Cool stuff.

    That is all from me...Elvis!

Freak: I have "Hey Album." My sister got me hooked on them, and I believe she has all 3.

    Which do you have?

Is it the ultimate sign of fan obsession when you assume a singer's identity on a Rockets chat board (yet another obsession)? If I were Elvis Costello, I would put out an album out every three weeks just so I could hear my music all of the time. But then again, I'm only an Elvis fan and not an Elvis talent...

-Brent/Elvis, who likes this message board lots and marvels at the musical tastes of his fellow Rocket fans..who knew?
