-the suns may fall a little, especially if they lose JJ.

-the sonics lost nate, and still have a lot of thier own FA's to worry about.

-the kings will fall a lot if they lose cat.

-the grizz are losing stro, and looking to deal a lot of other pieces for ending contracts.

-the clippers won't make the playoffs, they might lose simmons too.

-the wolves, aren't getting any better because they have nothing to trade but KG.

-the hornets and blazers will not make the playoffs.

it looks like the top 4 records will go to the spurs, mavs, rockets, nuggets. the suns and sonics will still be there, and the lakers and jazz looks like they can make the last 2 spots.

too bad that we might be stuck playing the mavs in the first round for a long time. we can beat them but it will not be easy.

Don't forget about the Warriors. They played VERY well once they got Baron Davis. They have ton of talent and could be dangerous if BDiddy can stay healthy.

One could predict, but you'll never know. I especially wouldn't count the Suns out of home court advantage. Even if they lose Joe Johnson they have a style of play that is suited to be a successful team in the regular season.

And you never know about injuries.

Don't be so sure about the Clippers. They definately have a chance to make the playoffs even if they lose Simmons.

They suffered badly from injuries last season and one would assume that it's very unlikely that they would face that as much this season.

Shaun Livingston is emerging quicker than anybody thought and soon will be a devastating player.

The core is definately there although they might have screwed their draft this summer with that stupid promise to Korolev

I certainly wouldn't write them off the playoff race just yet. Maybe this is their year.
Of course, they are the Clippers, who always mange to find a way to lose so take this with a grain of salt ;)

I agree w/ a lot of your points, but I think the Wolves will make a comeback for the playoffs, the Grizz will make it, and the Kings always seem to have good regular seasons.

If we get a good PF (Swift or Walker), my very early predictions for the West:

    1. Spurs
    2. Suns
    3. Rockets
    4. Mavs
    5. Nuggets
    6. Kings
    7. Grizzlies
    8. Warriors

If the Suns lose Joe Johnson or Shawn Marion, they will fall further than just to #2. The Warriors should be higher than #8 if injuries don't hit them hard. It's hard to predict right now because so many other roster changes are to come.

If spurs is No1. Rockets will never be No3 forever. In your list, Nuggets will be No3.

    1. Mavs
    2. Suns
    3. Nuggets
    4. Spurs
    5. Rockets
    6. Warriors
    7. Wolves
    8. Blazers

    Playoff:
    Mavs 4:2 Blazers
    Wolves 4:3 Suns
    Nuggets 4:1 Warriors
    Rockets 4:3 Spurs

    Rockets 4:1 Mavs
    Wolves 4:3 Nuggets

    Rockets 4:2 Wolves

I was just ranking their records, I wasn't taking in the conferences. And you have the Mavs at #1?

Are you a Rockets fan?
