I would like to see American Football (NFL) as an Olympic sport. The NFL is getting more popular around the world in Canada, Australia, Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa.

Wasn't there a thread not long ago about how NFL Europe was failing and now only had 8 teams, 7 of which was in Germany?

Jennie Finch will be missed. I think their are some other sports that should be cut before these. How about trampoline jumping?

Exactly! Trampoline jumping, wtf?! Just someone doing flips on a trampoline. IT's almost as bad as rythmic gymastics. You telling me that more people watch those events than Baseball and Softball. And while there is a bigger prize in baseball, I would argue that for softball players, the Olympics is the biggest prize, cause as far as I know there are no professional softball leagues (though it is a predominantly American sport).

And I would agree w/ curling too, if it weren't so freakin addicting too watch. :p

They should have mixed martial arts, individual martial arts like Tai Kwon Do, Karate, and Judo are too limiting and harder to follow with their point systems. Wouldn't it be nice to see a Matt Hughes or someone get a gold medal.

You know instead of dropping these two events couldn't they just have kept them and added peeing in a cup for distance?

"Well Mr. Burns had done it,
The power plant had won it,
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while,
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile,
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile...

    We're talkin' softball...
    From Maine to San Diego.
    Talkin' softball...
    Mattingly and Canseco.
    Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw.
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law.
We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.

Oh yeah! There's already a HUGE America/Europe rivalry every other year with the Ryder cup. The Olympics would be friggin' HUGE in the world of golf. It could be the fifth major!

There's no fear of doping, there's a huge audience for it, there's talented players from all over the globe..... why ISN'T golf in the Olympics?

That would disqualify a lot of sports. I've ridden a bike, played volleyball, sailed and sprinted while holding a beer and have done tumbling runs not holding a beer but holding my beer.

For the Athens games there was a push to get Pancretion back as an Olympic sport. Its one of the original Olympic sports and is a combination of submission wrestling and boxing.
