[Quick Question] Hwy 69 between Beaumont and Lufkin

    Is that a two-lane or four-lane highway? Is it dangerous at all?

    EDIT: To Lufkin...I know how it is between Lufkin and Tyler.

    I'm leaving to go visit my parents in a few minutes, who just so happen to live along Highway 69 about 20 minutes north of Beaumont :cool:

    It's 4 lanes.. 2 each direction..

    Dangerous? No. Boring? Yes.

    How many small towns? How long of a drive is that?

    I'm trying to get out of a drive all the way to Tyler and would rather drive from here to Beaumont. Lousy Hurricane Dennis screwing up everyone's plans. :)

    I live in Tyler. When we travel to Beaumont, we go to Henderson on 64 then go South to Lufkin ( take the loop around Nacadoches ). Then take 69 to Beaumont. There is entirely too many small towns on 69 between Lufkin and Tyler.

    Well, my sister lives on 69 on the far south side of Tyler. I'm more concerned about this strecth because I'm having to pick up my niece tomorrow to take her to IAH on Sunday and I really don't want to have to drive all the way to Tyler.

    I thought I was the only one that knew about Henderson. All my family on my dads' side lives there and Longview. I just went up there for the 4th.

    I've made a few trips to Henderson for things, I grew up just down the road from there in Jacksonville.

    I'm through Henderson all the time. I live in Carthage and work in Marshall. We chase a couple of drilling rigs that stay in the Henderson area.
